You're right, he is very fast. At one point he was considered one of the fastest in the country at his age. He ran 23.08 200m last year at 13. This season, he will play varsity football at Webb as an 8th grader.

I am beginning to think that being proximal to UT is not an advantage for UT. Sometimes, kids just want to get away....:cray:

Watched 2013 and 2014 season highlights and it really makes you realize how much we missed Pig and Croom in passing game last year. Those two were Dobbs Saftey blanket. Pig could do things with the ball after catch and Croom was Dobbs Saftey net for the chain moving throw. Croom at TE and the added juice from these freshman and a healthy Preston could really show a big difference in pass game this year

I really wonder if Pig would've been part of the roster, and Magitt would've been healthy, how many games we would've won. OU could not move the ball. Then Magitt went down, and all the sudden they started marching down the field. I think this defense really missed him. Then, think about the games where passing struggled: OU, Fl, Arky, if Dobbs had his best receiver out there, his go to guy, hard to believe that the passing would not have been better. I wonder if we win all three of those games if those two guys are out there. Who knows, maybe Bama as well

Also basically no North. We were very limited. Hope Dobbs shuts everyone up this year. Wish he could've RS'd.

Dobbs never seem to target North. Worley would just throw it up and let north make a play. Dobbs needs to do a bit more of that . Throw it up and see if your guy can go make the play on ball in air. It may also be a Debord thing telling him to make safe throws

I think it's his very measured nature. Really smart athletes are like that very often

Hard to complain about a kid that doesn't Throw the ball to other jersey though

True. I think lack of slot WR was biggest issue. Didn't use middle of field enough. Moving Smith to slot will help a ton. My only issue with Dobbs passing is he tends to be robotic which comes out more in games he is asked to not run as much. Games where he runs he is more loose/natural and passes better.

Maggitt was the calming, veteran leadership that defense needed. It noticibly took them a while to recover from his loss and learn how to be leaders themselves. Mark my words, that will pay huge dividends this year. Those worrying about 4th quarter collapses need not worry IMO.

Welp, true to form lately, we pick up another 3* (We are 3* U) and it is a QB.... What is going on? Do we need another QB, am I missing something? It's almost like we've given up on kids like Akers and others and are just gonna have a class filled with 3* development players... "Hey guys, ya'll just go after and get the 4 and 5* kids, we'll just grab up all the 3* and be good... cause that's how you win championships!"
With the late pickups and who we are taking, it looks as if the staff has given up on this season and are already looking to next year... either that or we are going to be telling a ton of kids to look elsewhere after we win the SEC Championship....
I know, super negative, but jeaz, how can you not scratch your head on some of the moves we've made and kids we've offered and who have accepted lately?

Sit back and watch Butch do work. He has yet to give us any reason to concern about recruiting and evaluating talent. Until he does I'm not worried. It's encouraging to look at the three stars that have been so beneficial to us on the field already.

Here shortly the articles will start popping up on the front page of 247 talking about the commitments that are no longer commitments for us. Its usually in Nov or Dec, but I'd guess it's going to get cranked up much quicker this cycle. Some will sound like the recruit wanted to look around, some will say they were dumped. Unfortunately it's the negative media this sort of recruiting brings.

With us having so many commitments so early, it might be a situation where a kid loses his spot, then the new commit loses his spot closer to NSD. We might do some double git shirts.
