Will not happen. we will have a great season with no more than one or two losses.

Disappointing if so. CBJ may not have a better roster again then he does this year. So much talent, depth, and experience. Unless we have a crazy number of injuries which isn't uncommon for us. <--- even if so we have plenty of backups to where the talent level won't be much of a drop across the board.

I'm not saying that we will not have as superior talent (like we will have this year) again very soon, but if CBJ can't take THIS Team 120 and make a serious run at undefeated or at least just one loss (barring injuries), then he never will and we will always be a talented team that can't get over the hump or win the big one. Really hope that is not the case and can put it behind us now!

Anything less than 10-2 should be considered major failure with Jones being on a full hot seat the next season. JMO.

How quickly folks forget the dumpster fire we've been for the several seasons prior to CBJ's arrival.

Wins are up, revenues are up, recruiting is up, athlete's academic performances are up, player's in trouble with the law is down. If I'm running the athletic dept at UT, it would take a losing season along with a bunch of player troubles and/or infighting amongst the coaches for me to put CBJ on the hot seat in 2017. This "if you ain't first your last" mentality is mind boggling. :loco:

He should listen to his computers saying we're going 12-0.

Its funny how the pure analytics love us (i.e. McIllese Sports) but it's the human element putting us at the bottom of the top 10.

This is one time people should just follow the numbers.

The human element has seen us play UF and Bama the last decade.

Really? So you're confident that Colton Jumper can anchor the middle of that front 7 if DKJr goes down?

Hall of Fame post......why mince words?
Go Vols

The thing is, those two games could flush our season, but they can't make our season. Those two are playing spoiler this year, they don't expect to have a NC run, but they do want to be the spoiler.

Bama is looking to repeat, that's who I want. I just hope Bama is good enough to get to the SECCG, it would be special to embarass them again. Then LSU in the playoffs and Clemson for the NC.

I'm hoping that by the time we play A&M they will have secured the belt(how convenient).

If not them then Bama to have the following week and snag it from them.

See y'all in Tampa.

We'll see whose right by season's end.

I'm the only person on record saying we go 15-0 with ease.

Only the game against Alabama in the regular season will be even close.

I don't know if you realize how difficult it is to win the national championship, not to mention going undefeated. There is no such thing as "15-0 with ease." I'm all for getting excited about the season, but you're planning a wedding with the hot girl at the bar before you get her number.

No. No way. Never gonna root for the Vols to lose, ever, for any reason. We could be facing Armageddon if the Vols should lose, and I'll just strap in for the rough ride, because I'm gonna be cheering the guys in Orange on.

Amen!
And sure wouldn't want them to lose just to shut some igmo up!! All you have to do is ignore or block!

Too extreme, just enjoy the humor of it all. D4H is in famous company. There is no one on this board if rather be right than D4H. He is on record for saying 15-0 will be easy.

I hope he is right.

See y'all in Tampa.

Do what? That's crazy talk. If Tennessee don't win then I ain't in...they can take that trash somewhere else. I might be back if they start winning again.

I'll help you pay for it.

There is a place called Main Event same environment just better food, they were selling 1hr unlimited play for like $10 bucks the only catch it doesn't issue tickets for all the great prizes. So I called in the crew and we ran up a tab that would have been over $300.

I don't see Arkansas beating TCU but it could happen. We have a horrible record when trying to get the belt. Think our last shot at it was OU in 14

I can see us going 15-0 and I can also see us going 9-3 or 10-2. There are a lot of variables that can change the outcome of our season with injuries to a couple of key players being one of them. How fast would our season go down the toilet with injuries to Dobbs, Hurd, Sutton and Dkjr? We have depth but not "plug in another player with no drop off in production" type players. Some of these guy are the key to our season.

I just pray we stay healthy and get a few breaks along the way. Only then is 15-0 a real possibility.

I've heard never expect a bad team to win or a good team to lose. I just figured it would work out, and that was the earliest chance.

When we played OU I was unaware of the Belt. Only since getting on VN was I schooled about the Belt. Thanks Freak.

Your right I may want to did into it.

I think the chances go up in half-game steps as we roll along:

Right now, before the season starts, I'm torn between 9-3 and 10-2 as most likely outcome (closer to 10-2, but still a bit divided). So say 9.5 wins, regular season.

After we win the Battle at Bristol, the most likely outcome will shift to 10-2.

Beat Florida, and it becomes 10.5 wins.

Go to Georgia and win, and it shifts to 11-1 prediction.

Thrash A&M, and we'll be looking at 11.5 (basically, the Bama game remains a toss-up).

Beat Bama, and the most likely outcome is, naturally, 12-0...even with a possible trap game or two in the remainder of the schedule.

That's just how it plays out in my head. :)

Trashing A&M is much easier typed than done. Long western road trips are tough wins.
