Noticed we are one of few teams in sec not attending NPAs July 17th camp... Very suprising being that Buck runs that camp. hope there aren't issue there

If it helps teach our players how to avoid situations that can put them in legal trouble, I'm all for it.

I am fine with hiring one new person but good grief posters seem to act like we don't already have support staff left and right.

Wasn't this exactly the kind things the VFL director was hired to do anyway?

Plenty of staffers capable of doing this already IMO and I am just frustrated that all this damn country is becoming a CYA PR society . That's all these 2 hires are

I'm not worried about this class and neither should y'all. Remember when Kyle Philips was all LSU then committed to us? Remember kongbo was going to ole miss then we got his LOI? Everyone needs to breath and see that it's still summer and we have plenty of time. Now if this was December I would be worried but right now? Not warranted imo

Drew Richmond was supposedly driving to Ole Miss.....and ended up in Knoxville.

Alexis Johnson is on pace to have charges drop and all signs point to him being on the field sometime this fall.

Expect to see Byrd, Callaway and L. Williams all play

As of today, I'll go with:

QB Copeland 3*

RB Coleman 3*, Chandler 4*

WR Fant 3*, Jones 3*, Payton 3*

TE Rogers 3*

OL Tucker 3*, Ross 3*, Locklear 3*

DT Bennett 3*, Crosby 4*, Gaddy 4*, Hansard 3*

DE Bumphus 3*, Lawson 3*, Gaddy 3*

LB Burnam 3*, Henderson 3*, Page 3* Bembry 3*

DB Gray 4*, Jackson 3*, Labruzza 3*

K Cimaglia 3*

Game on!

Couple of those 3* could be 4* at end of year. Crosby is a must hold onto recruit as well as Gray.

@wesrucker247: There also will be two more full-time UTK staffers whose primary job will be educating student athletes on sexual assault issues.

This is Fing stupid

No it's not. We still have a Federal Title IX investigation (we're one of the hundreds being audited). This shows us as a forward thinking university and is a very good PR move. It also makes it harder to prove a case like what was filed against us and god knows some of our young men and women do actually need to have both assault and consent explained to them (sad but true).

This is a Dooley class. Or a Fulmer class, after he got lazy about recruiting.

This is the type of post we are seeing a lot of right now. Showing a lack of understanding about recruiting. A CBJ/Bob Welton recruiting class that looks like a Dooley class on paper based on star ratings are nothing alike.

Exactly. While that list is not exactly what I would hope it to be in the end, it is nothing like a Dooley class.

Ditto...Dooley threw darts at a board and it usually hit William&Mary targets.

Yeah? You're saying that because a random internet poster posted a projected class, and even though we have absolutely no idea if a significant number of those projected (by a random internet poster, and not CBJ or Welton) even have commitable offers, or are high up on said evaluators' draft board, that I have no idea about recruiting?

Maybe I do, and maybe I don't, but I am completely comfortable with being called out when it comes from that moronic line of thinking.

Unless you are Bob Welton, and know that is going to be our class, nice analysis, Tom Lemming.

You do know 17 of those 25 I listed are current TN commitments right? I'd imagine the Chandler and Ross offers are legit for sure. That's 19. I didn't have to do too much guessing on legit offers.

Yes. And much to your chagrin, a good portion of them probably will be elsewhere on NSD.

Not hoping they are, but following the trend since CBJ has been here.

That's possible. Still doesn't mean the offer isn't legit. An offer where a kid can't commit yet is garbage. These were committable.

That's fine. But Tom Lemming called me out for not understanding recruiting based on the sanctity of CBJ and BW's evaluations, when he, you, I or anyone except for Hunter Johnson knows what the board looks like.

When the top prospects aren't biting, I expect even more finetuning this year, so our commitment list may be more volatile than in years past. I may not know much, but Tom's the one that doesn't seem to get it.
