I've thought the lawsuit has played a part in recruiting and thought opposing coaches were pointing to Butchs future here. Remember when some in national media questioned if Butchs job was secure especially after the Bowles news hit? I don't think it's so much of the accusations in the lawsuit itself or recruits and their families thinking UT is a bunch of thugs, it was more who is going to be my coach moving forward type questions. Thank goodness that black cloud has moved on.
It was the staffs responsibility to ensure recruits and their families understood their jobs were never even remotely in jeopardy over this lawsuit. It was about getting paid, nothing more. If other schools coaches got recruits to believe otherwise, our staff should have done a better job.
