Thanks for the update fingers. Ready for all this to be in the rear view and everyone to start focusing on football.

Sounds like just his opinion. Would have been more helpful if he cited a source

Not dogging Fingers at all. I do appreciate the info

I have sat and read all these post about tee and why he at the last moment, according to what I've read on here, changed his mind and committed to Clemson. I wonder if the law suit had anything to do with it? Butch said schools was using it against us and if I remember correctly it involved Clemson.

I will be so glad when this "money grab" is over with. Of course, it'll probably end with an out of court payday, which was more than likely the back-up plan for the accusers from the get go given the lack of evidence to support their accusations. Just make something up by twisting facts with reality, sling the school's name through the mud,** sit back and wait for the $$$. Sounds like about 75% of lawsuits nowadays.

**Almost forgot a step: Let the media run away with the story, implying whatever they so desire in order to sell some press here and there.

2017 should have been one of the best recruiting classes ever for this program based on in state talent. We're losing that talent every day we fight this lawsuit. As long as it is hanging over our heads there is the chance that one more bad bit of info comes out and Butch is fired like Art Briles. You can't recruit under that uncertainty for years waiting for a trial. UT administration tried to do the "right" thing by fighting this, problem is it wasn't the "smart" thing to do.

If they're going to settle, why didn't they settle immediately? The damage is done. At this point, they might as well fight it.

Because a settlement has to be agreed upon by both parties. I'm sure the school has a price they're willing to pay to make it go away.... and they haven't gotten down to that number yet.

The only way to make a quick settlement is to pay the plaintiffs every dime they're asking for without even negotiating. That's not a realistic way to handle business. Holding together a recruiting class cannot be the top priority for a major state school.

This lawsuit is about how the athletic dept handled the claims and the culture it created around campus. It is very important for the athletic dept to keep together a recruiting class. We all saw how much money the athletic dept lost when Dooley was here winning 5 game a year. Let Butch bring in 2-3 classes ranked in the 30s and watch the coffers dry up again as Bama beats us by 35 every year.

I'm not saying that you are wrong but we aren't anywhere close to 30s or have we been since he got here. We could do better by ranking but has has shown an ability to identify talent. Plus some threes can be fours by the end of all this.

Other schools better not try to use it too much.....they're probably next

I don't get this!

UT doesn't admit guilt?

Then why are they paying the plantiffs and thier attorneys 2.48 million?

Settling isn't admitting guilt -- it's probably just cheaper than letting it drag out for a few years.

If they aren't guilty, then they should take the case to trial, win and pay nothing!
