I don't care about Johnson nor Rodgers. Higgins and maybe Richardson could have been great here at Tennessee.

You don't think Clemson coaches brought up Tennessee's pathetic WR production since Butch came to Knoxville 3 years ago? All the while comparing it to Clemson's gaudy passing numbers?

Then throw in current outstanding NFL WRs who matriculated at Clemson....there's 3 that come to mind immediately....compared to zero from UT.

I have no doubt that you're partially right....he's buds with both Rodgers and Johnson. But what top WR recruit wouldn't pay attention to and partially base his decision on the effectiveness of the passing games of his potential landing spots? I think it surely had to be a significant factor.

I agree for some positions especially on offense. I think SEC defenders are held to a slightly higher standard, but it doesn't make much of a difference once a player gets to the league. My point is comparing "success" of a program in the SEC vs. ACC. In the end, you are judged on Ws and that's where we will separate ourselves after this year.

If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best which in Clemson's case, they don't play the best in the ACC. Besides FSU, they have so much more talent than anyone in the ACC. It's like the big kid picking on the little kid at the park and there's nothing the little kid can do about it. There's 4* & 5*s out there that want to be challenged every week and that's why you see most of these highly rated recruits go to the SEC. If Higgins wants the easy way out, by hell let him.

I understand SEC fans feel that way. Its just the NFL doesn't. Lots of non SEC players throughout that 1st round.

Boggles my mind why someone would choose to sharpen their football skills in the ACC. Enjoy that game against Wake Forest, Duke, Virgina or any other choices where you're playing in front of 28,000 people.

That a WR that only cares about making $ in the league doesn't really care about the strength of the SEC vs the ACC. Makes absolutely no difference to that person. In fact, ACC might be more attractive...less grind for the same outcome (that outcome being $$$)

He also has an easier road to the Playoffs, a national title and playing on the biggest national stage in the country to showcase his talents. As much as I hate and disagree with his decision I can understand it.

Higgins was the only real loss in that group. There are plenty of Amari Rogers around, Richardson was not even that high on our RB board, and I think it's 50/50 that HJ even last at Clem's son. He doesn't fit their offense any better than he does ours. JG will be much more successful here than HJ would have ever been.
