'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

Not sure how Butch is going to spin this one but he has to be the most disappointed man in the world today. Reminds me of the Vonn Bell loss.

He's not going to spin it at all, at least until NSD he can't talk about it. If it holds, it's much bigger than losing a safety like Vonn Bell. It's more in the Chris Leak, Ronnie Brown, Cadillac Williams area.

This is one that can't be sugar coated... it's our biggest loss since Williams in my opinion (for a recruit we were in on, so I'm not counting Jalen Ramsey). If it hurts, it should.

Clemson has an at-best .500 record against SEC opponents over the last 5 years. That's with playing SC every year. They'd finish middle pack of the SEC each year.

So what's your argument actually? You've made 3 different ones now. They're 6-5 vs the SEC and also have wins over OU (2x) and O$U in that stretch. You argued last year was fluke success, then when shown they've actually had a solid run over the last half-decade you turn it into how they'd do in the SEC. Kids see 11-2 seasons, BCS bowls and WR drafted year in and year out.

Tbh guys I was told that he was a Vol all along by people inside his camp. I have never been told otherwise. This is a big loss for us and was told he committed to the Vols on OCD so I am at a loss right now. Sorry guys I was let down by this. On to the next one I guess.

Still waiting for you to get one right... :eek:lol:

Tired of reading his pretend info. Mae-ka-dudi reincarnated.

They were really good last year and may be again this year with their QB. Their problem is they play nobody but FSU.

They don't have to play a real football team but twice a year in regular season.

I wish the SEC would drop Mizzou for Clemson so we can test the theory.

I don't believe we were his leader a month ago. I think the Clemson fans were right when they said he lied to keep the local pressure off of him.

I would wager he just didn't care anymore and committed.

Obviously we weren't his leader but is handling it this way going to help with local pressure? I don't expect him to be a very popular man about town in OR right now.

What's the real consequence? His family is on his side if you didn't catch the "We're all in!" in his commitment video. His friends will support him because they're his friends (they might tease, but who cares?).

If some random strangers are going up and harassing the kid then it's maybe best he is getting out of town.

We had a lead over Alabama with less than 5 minutes to play (and that was in Tuscaloosa)... so, I guess we're legit too right?

I'm pretty sure Clemson scored a really, really late TD that made the game seem a little close in the end.

They played well, but Bama had a comfortable lead in the end.

I was just responding to the notion that he mislead people to keep local pressure off of him... I don't see how intentionally misleading anyone helped him at all.

Clemson almost beat Alabama. They are legit.

Not that I agree with Tn golfer, because I do not, but we almost beat team in burgundy too. Of course now we are legit this year as our depth is there now.

Also imo, Clemson would have won east last year, but probably 3rd in west. Would have been close between them and LSU for second imo.

The whole argument is it's not hard to have success when you have one other football school in the entire conference. If kids want to take the easy road each year and play juggernauts like NC State, Duke, BC, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech week in and week out then that's on them. Real competitors want to play against the best.

Bama, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee, & Arkansas could've run through the ACC last year the same way.

If he committed to us, Clemson people would be insulting him too. They're people like that in every fan base. Lol

One player does not define this class or the University of Tennessee, I'm sure coach Jones wants every great player he goes after but that is not realistic. This football team and staff will move forward with more of a chip on its shoulder. Every time Tee watches the Volunteers run through the T, he will second guess himself, it will be Tees loss not UTs, Clemson will never be the University of Tennessee! EVER!!

No but I think it's the combination of Johnson, Higgins, Rodgers, and Richardson that's frustrating lol

If you step back and don't look at it as an SEC fan, it's not hard to understand IMO. If you are a WR and have a 1000 yard season at UT or a 1000 yard season at Clemson does the NFL care? I'd say no. Both are quality programs and point to you being an NFL option. As a recruit if I can show out in the ACC and beat up on an easier schedule, is it the wrong decision? If playing on Sundays is the goal and one path is easier, why not?
