let's be serious, QD's arm talent is the asset that surpasses Dobbs. I think if QD had to take over the starting offense, then we would give our pass catchers the most opportunity in making plays. The biggest knack against Dobbs (like we have all seen and heard previously) is his lack of accuracy and consistency in throwing the ball down the field. QD's arm > Dobbs arm. One ? if QD has to start is lack of experience.
i think that's the harshest response to a post i've ever seen from you...lol:

The factor I believe is the biggest to his success for us if he were to come in, is pass protection. Dobbs made our line look better than they actually were. Teams have to respect Dobbs running abilities so it opens up better passing opportunities (whether or not we capitalized on them). QD wouldn't be respected as much running but I think he has the athleticism to get positive yardage on the run. Now, I don't think he'd be as successful if he is getting rushed constantly. He might wind up like a Worley. Honestly, I think Worley would have been a better passer if he had more time.
In mop up duty QD has a lower passing % than Dobbs against the first teamers we face.
Yet some of you act like he's the next Peyton. I like QD and hope he is the best ever.
Dobbs will finish his career in the top 5 all time at UT. Why can't y'all give the guy the credit he has earned.
Also Dobbs has done this in a run first offense which makes it even more impressive. Instead of looking for any and all negative about Josh, why can't we appreciate the great things he's accomplished?
No.
I do feel confident that many fans do not realize what we have in Dobbs and will probably only realize it after he's gone. It would be a shame not to understand you are watching one of the all-time top 4-5 Tennessee qbs play until it's too late.
