What 4 do you see? Just curious. I can see losses to Ole Miss, and hopefully Tennessee, but all other games are up in the air. I can't see a UNC team that allowed 645 RUSHING yards to Baylor in their last game stopping Michel and a maybe 80% healthy Chubb in their first game. Who knows what Florida or Auburn will look like. GA Tech is coming off a horrible season.

I see a loss to UNC who has returned a lot of talent. You can look at that bowl loss as something yes, but Baylor literally created a new offense for that bowl due to injuries. Imagine styudying for a math test for weeks only to find out it was a history test, that's what happened with the Defense. UNC will be a very good team next year.

They will lose a game they aren't suppose to lose (Auburn, Florida) Then they will play Miami in a bowl where mark Richt will crush them. losing 4-5 games next year.

A. But I don't think I can handle another loss to UF. Tough question.

We must beat UF this year. Must win.

I agree with both and that's what makes it such a difficult question.

So many with the "must beat Florida"
dedication. At the same time, the expectations placed upon us have been to win the east. Anything less is seen as a failure and used against us.

Pick your poison basically.

Op, I want a new question.

Haven't you heard?

Kirby Smart is Nick Saban 2.0. All UGA lacked was motivation. Nick Chubb has Wolverine-like healing factors. Their QB is one of the first that could have went to the NFL straight from high school. Mark Richt was a clown that absolute cratered that program. Etc. Etc.

[All things can be verified daily on Georgia radio and by Chuck Oliver]

I just quoted this to agree with you about Chuck Oliver. He has an "SEC" or maybe a "college football" national show is the one of the biggest Georgia homers I have ever heard. I cannot stand to listen to him at all, anymore.

I was excited when I heard him on 1180. I thought "Cool! A decent syndicated SEC football show." Then he had about 5 different UGA type beat writers on in 2 days and I figured out real quick what was up. When I heard him use Dave frigging Hooker as his Tennessee contact, I almost laughed myself off the road.

The only time he's really pissed me off was a few days ago. He spent an entire segment blasting Josh Dobbs and explaining "Why Josh Dobbs Can't and Won't Win the Heisman Trophy". As if article after article had been written proclaiming Dobbs the hands down favorite. It was odd, and obviously for the cheap pop it would get with his Georgia base.

I went back to Jay Mohr unless Oliver has some sort of decent guest on.

Two options, pick one.

A - 10-2 (6-2) Losses to Alabama and Florida. Win SEC East and play LSU in SEC Title game.
B- 10-2 (6-2) Losses to Georgia and A&M. Miss out on SEC East w/ UGA winning it and them playing LSU

I honestly would almost take option B, getting those two monkey's off our back would be huge and I am not confident we'd win in Atlanta anyway. Going undefeated in Neyland would be epic.

Not sure which scenario would be spun more favorably.

I know, I know you take the East title and don't question it but this is really hard to me!

Gotta take a big picture view: get to the SECCG any way we can. If we want to be a championship team, we have to start winning championships... and that starts with the SECE. This year.

I can not stomach another loss to Florida. I'm not sure what I would give up in order to beat them.

Just about the only realistic regular season scenario where I would prefer a loss to Florida would be going 11-1.

Maybe 10-2 with a loss to UF and a victory over Bama and we still make it to the SECCG I would take as well.

14-1 or 15-0

The stars are aligned, and the last one to align was the loss of a TN legend yesterday. Team 120 will play this season for Pat.

I don't blame Oliver since 90% of his listeners are Georgia fans, but the amount of Eason slobbing going on Atlanta radio is crazy.

Dude will get crushed just like every true freshman does in the SEC.

I've noticed down here that Georgia fans have no respect for Dobbs, even though he lit them up last year. They had one of the best defenses in the country by most measures, and Dobbs destroyed it. Dobbs has his limitations and I don't think he's winning the Heisman, but he's certainly good enough to take us anywhere we want to go. UGA fans drive me nuts.

You nailed it on your earlier post about their expectations for the Kirby Smart era. After their spring game, I was in a pizza joint and overheard a table of UGA fans talking about how they were going to win the national championship this year based on Eason's performance that day. Unbelievable fan base that is completely unhinged from reality.

This team can beat anybody in the country. Why do we expect losses?

I think "expecting losses" is different from predicting that we will go 10-2 or 11-1. To me, expecting losses means there are teams on our schedule we think we can't beat. Some folks still think we can't beat Florida (the "won't believe it till it happens" crowd) and others feel the same about Bama. I personally don't feel that way about either - like you, I believe we have the talent to beat them this year.

However, the likelihood of going undefeated is very small. We've only done it one time since 1938. Alabama has only had one undefeated season in the Saban era. So, I don't think it's unreasonable at all to assume we likely will have a loss (or two) this season. And then it's just a matter of figuring out who you'd reasonably rather us lose to. I'd prefer to beat Florida and Alabama myself. I agree that if we lose to both of them but make the SECCG (and lose) people will look at our team like they looked at Mizzou in 2013 and 2014. But if we beat Bama and Florida and barely miss the SECCG because of close hard fought road losses to UGA and TAMU (both talented teams), I think our season may actually look better.

Who knows though.

10-2 with losses to UF and Bama would feel very hollow to me. It would be 2015 redux with the only differences being an easier P5 OOC opponent and finally beating our rotating West opponent.

I've been in this crowd for a couple years now. But it isn't because I think we can't beat UF or have the talent to beat them. Last year we had the talent to beat them. We should have beat them. And you can ask my friends I was all about that and knew we would beat them. But we lost. Talent? Not the answer. We lost in some weird fluke way. This is why I am in this crowd and I am sure others (not all) are in it as well. Do I think this team can beat UF and Bama this year? Yep. 100%. Do I think we should beat them? Yep (not so much Bama as I do UF). But, will we is another answer. I think we will, but I do not believe it.

By pure recruiting class strength, FL was still better than us last year. I'd say this is the first year where we are at parity or better, although admittedly I haven't seen the numbers. Even so, it took a fluke play late for them to win at home. We're stronger now, we get them here, and Shoop don't play 4th and 14. It will be an emotional day, but I like our chances.

What do they think the max number is for this class?

Alexis Johnson situation?

Update on Tuttle?

AJ is expected to be back, but likely not in the best condition

Tuttle is nearing 100% but has ways to go in conditioning
