Recruiting Forum Football Talk XXVI

It's been so cool to me to see how much she meant to everyone in the country. You know how much she is meant around the state of Tennessee, but to hear someone like Bob Knight say she is one of the best ever and even see her death overshadow the great Buddy Ryan is suprising to me. I'm so glad she was one of us proud Tennesseans! God got a damn good angel today.

An interesting off season fact to nibble on:

No cross division rivals in the SEC have ever met in the SEC title game.

TN v Bama
UGA v. Barn
UF v. LSU
USC v. Ark (now Tx am)
UK v. Miss St.
VU v. Ole Miss
Mizzu v. Tx am (now Ark)

Wonder if TN v. Bama in 2016 could be the first time cross division rivals meet in Atlanta for the conference title?

No, because after we beat Bama on TSIO, we'll be playing LSU in ATL.

The Ayres bells playing The Tennessee Waltz for Pat was such a touching tribute. What a special place UT is. I feel so fortunate to have gone there.

Personally, I lurk the "Recruiting Forum Football Talk" thread to read about football recruiting. I wish more posters would use the off topic thread when appropriate.

Said respectfully and I appreciate that.
When news is slow, there will always be a general conversation about different topics.
But when anything truly interesting comes up, the conversation will definitely focus around that. Always has, always will. And the real news will always be in the players threads.
In the end, we are talking about scrolling. It's possible I'm from a different generation I admit. But I think we are fairly lucky if the thing we have to complain about in our day,is how much we have to swipe or left click the scroll down bar.

On a selfish note, when the news is slow, reading these guys hilarious posts and thoughts, makes my day a little brighter.

It's been this way since the whole Bryce Brown saga. Wouldn't want it to change one bit.

I was listening to a local radio station here in Memphis, and they have an SEC segment every week with the same media member from out of state. They mainly focus on football, but they spent most of the segment on Pat. It was stated that they were surprised that the major stations spent so much time on her accomplishments but very happy that it was done. They also stated that although it is sad to hear now, they were glad that she got her own day in June because they were afraid that SEC football could overshadow her if she had passed in the fall. I agree with being floored by all of the comments from so many. If you have about 30 minutes, go read all of the statements and social media comments posted on the UT site. That alone shows you how loved Pat was.

Twitter report that the Yankees observed a moment of silence for Pat before the game tonight.

Anyone confirm?

So...this picture exists. Taken tonight in Knoxville at sunset. I mean come on...

Wow man that's incredible. I've read a lot about fine tuning and physics and this is just one more thing that makes you amazed at the handiwork of the designer
