Would UF: Rather beat FSU than TN in '16

Based on what exactly?

As if Treon Harris will be our starting QB for the next 10 years.

Everybody knows Florida doesn't lose to Tn.
After that happens the natives will get restless and call for y'all's coach to be fired.

Or just settle for loseing to Tn because it's the new norm.

Go Vols!

For me, I'll take an SEC win. Yes, I hate the Noles, but a loss to them wont keep UF from winning the SEC East.

The only way I'd choose different, was if we needed to beat the Noles to make the playoffs.

Your 3rd year coach blows two of the last three against us, and he gets a pass...but UF fans will call for McElwain's head following a loss in his second year, after winning the East?

Alrighty then.

I was recently in Panama City for vacation...and yes, I could smell the stench as I crossed both the Alabama and Florida state lines. Anyways, we went to O'Charleys when we first got into town. I ran into an older couple that were natives, and noticed that the mans wife had a FL St purse. I said: "Fl State fans huh?! Better than being Gator fans!" The man then informed me that the hated Florida fans and Alabama fans more than anybody because they were the most in-your-face obnoxious fans on earth. I have noticed the exact same thing....just sayin.

Fla state fans hate anything about florida---they are viewed as a second rate school to florida and can't tolerate it

Ignore him. He's firmly in the D4H camp and believes we are winning the national title again this year. Florida isn't going to just fall off. They could possibly have a disappointing season in relation to last year, but Mac seems like a good coach and will have the Gators at least competing for championships each year.

I just hope our guy beats him out :)

I'm 2-0 at home in attendance against UF (98,04). This year I am living close enough to drive down for the game. No worries at all. We got this.

I'm torn on this. In a normal year, I'd say that I'd rather beat UT because it is usually necessary so as to win the SECe. But this year, since I really don't think the Gators have the depth to finish a season long campaign to try to win the conference, I'd have to say I'd prefer this year to beat FSU.

Let you guys be the sacrificial lambs to Alabama in Atlanta, for once.

I don't believe Bama makes it to Atlanta this year. It happens every once in a blue moon, but I think this year is that blue moon. I think LSU will finally put together a respectable season with all that talent they poorly use. And somehow Les Miles will still be fired.

25 long years ago when we did the conf split....and htey put TN and AL in opposite divisions.....my first thought was "we could beat Bama twice!!" and that made me feel good.

it's sad that we've not met once in 25 years in the conf title game.

None of the Big 6 SEC Teams have met their cross division rival in the SEC title game.

TN v. Bama
UGA v. Barn
UF v. LSU

Generally, if you lose to your cross division rival, you aren't going to make it to ATL (TN's only exception is 2007).

interesting.

It is. You can actually expand this rule to the entire conference. No cross division rivals in the SEC have ever met in the SEC title game.

TV v Bama
UGA v. Barn
UF v. LSU
USC v. Ark (now Tx am)
UK v. Miss St.
VU v. Ole Miss
Mizzu v. Tx am (now Ark)

Well there is a slight exception there (though I understand what you mean). When the conference first split into divisions, the 8 game conference schedule was such that each team played 2 permanent opposite division teams. From 1992 - 2002 or 2003, TN played Alabama and Arkansas each year, UF played LSU and Auburn, and UGA played Auburn and Ole Miss (clearly 90s UGA got a pretty good end of the deal...not to mention Alabama played TN and Vanderbilt, LSU played UF and Kentucky, and Auburn played UGA and South Carolina).

The 2000 season saw Florida and Auburn meet in the SEC Championship game. So it has happened, but the results seem to lean towards fairly slim chances of a season playing out like that as an often occurrence.

Fsu will be loaded this year---they may be in the final 4. Florida will lose big to them and UT!!!
