Old, but hey, it's June.

Great SEC Inside of Tennessee the week of the UGA game last year. That game was the turning point of the Butch Jones era, and this is an interesting look at the team's preparations that critical week, especially after losing those brutal three games before hand.

How many spots left? 6? Gaddy, Gaddy, Gibbs, Higgins, Chandler, Smith. And a big fish surprise or two to replace some that fall off towards signing day. Gimme Jacoby and Eze for 1000 Alex.

We'll sign between 23-28 imo. We have 17 right now. So between 6-11 more recruits.

Attrition is going to happen. We set a nice foundation and created momentum yesterday. In reality we need 13 to 15 or so 4 and 5 stars each year on average to be a really good football team consistently.

Assuming 2 of the current players get bumps, we have four 4 star players. Now the staff can focus on rounding out the next 11 with 4 and 5 stars. We have line of site to 20+ 4 and 5 stars at this point. Then there is the Byrd, Pearson, or Kingbo which comes later. This is a process.

He said other schools in the conference are recruiting as well or better than UT, but they aren't developing that talent as well as Butch is. He mentioned A&M, UGA and Auburn. As I consider the commitments today, I think that's part of the difference for us. We have a program that can truly develop these guys. We will see.

That's why I never doubt Butch in recruiting. Almost all of our recruits from 2013-2015 have either lived up to the hype or exceeded it.

We've had very few have disappointments that have not lived up to their recruiting rank. The biggest one I can think of is Dillon Bates. And even his subpar performance has been more injury related than anything else.

Especially Austin Smith. Our coaches were raving about him at fall camp last year. Even telling Jimmy Hyams that he would be a first or second round NFL draft pick down the road.

Just to pour a little salt in the wound, I say we go poach Vandys one commit, which is a QB.

Being serious, maybe Perry is one they could get back in on. His decommit then recommit to the canes had me thinking he'd pick UT given the chance. I figured he recommitted as UT was likely slow playing him and he caught on.

I was partly joking about what has happened here but correct me if I am wrong

Most of these commits yesterday fit into the lower rated fringy category?

That's what it looks to me unless I am missing something
