Somewhat off topic, but when the Berlin wall fell and the KGB's files were finally released, it was revealed that Joseph McCarthy was right about pretty much everything. Sure, a few innocent people got caught in the crossfire, but his thesis of Soviet/Marxist institutional subversion was vindicated.:zeitung_lesen:

I'd have to see more information on how many times he was actually right vs all the accusations he threw out, but that's the thing about authoritarianism.

Today we suffer the consequences of Edward R. Murrow preventing McCarthy from finishing the job. Seems like a small price to pay in hindsight.

I can tell you for a fact that when Egypt had all that trouble during the Arab spring a few years ago that people in Egypt were furious with Obama for supporting the Muslim brotherhood. All those rallies that we saw on the major news networks were done by the Muslim brotherhood. I had people asking me why was our president doing that. I was shocked and upset. I couldn't believe it.

BTW this is not something I read on the Internet but saw with my own eyes and heard with my own ears.
