50 dead, 40+ wounded in nightclub attack in Florida

I knew when I first heard this story that this guy was likely a closeted gay that couldn't accept the fact that he was. It seems to be coming to light. Most the time the people that hate gays the most are truly gay or have gay tendencies. Several people are coming forward and saying that they saw this guy multiply times in the night club. Then there are people coming forward saying that he was using gay hookup apps. I bet ISIS had no idea who this guy even was beforehand, and he used them as an excuse. Just my :twocents:.

That darn Chick-fil-A! What were they thinking?! They are supposed to be a hateful group!

Chick-fil-A did WHAT on Sunday? | Fox News

Normally Chick-fil-A is closed on Sunday so workers can go to church or spend time with their families or just sit on the front porch in a rocking chair and wave to passersby. So when I received word through some of our readers that several Chick-fil-A restaurants in Orlando had opened their doors on Sunday – I was a bit intrigued.

One of the most inspiring photographs showed hundreds and hundreds of people waiting in long lines – for hours to donate blood. Team members at two nearby Chick-fil-A restaurants figured those folks must be getting hungry. So somebody flipped on the lights and they started frying chicken. Before long they were serving sandwiches and nuggets and sweet tea to all the folks waiting to donate blood – along with a host of law enforcement personnel.

“We love our city and love the people in our community,” a team member wrote on the restaurant’s Facebook page. The following day many of their restaurants provided free chicken biscuits and orange juice to firefighters and police officers and first responders.

I feel like this is widely accepted, but I've never seen anything other than anecdotal evidence to support it.

Why do you (or anybody) think he would he use ISIS as an excuse? I haven't totally made sense of that. I figure he wanted to cover up his own homosexuality, but he'd have to know it would come out. There's no way.

Well think about it, if you were going to plan a large massacre wouldn't you plan first? That means scoping out the place you're going to attack. Maybe he was secretly gay, maybe he was familiarizing himself with the building layout. He was somehow able to get past cops with a rifle and pistol without being detected. I think he knew what he was doing and had probably been watching the place for a while.

My bad. The doors were being held shut from outside the club. Luis Burbado is his name, a Latino actor. Maybe a crisis actor, who knows.

LiveLeak.com - Eyewitness says emergency exit door at Orlando nightclub shooting was being held shut from outside. Then his call gets dropped on national television.

In crisis situations a lot of stuff comes out that is exaggerated, untrue, or misheard and innocently repeated. I am not saying this is the case with the subject of your post. But, i am dubious about things of this nature. Jmo

The articles have quoted his ex-wife as saying that his father had called him gay in front of her--most likely as a slur from the fundamental Islamist perspective. He may have wanted to go out in a blaze of glory, seen as an Islamic martyr by killing as many homosexuals as possible, to prove to his father that he was straight, and a good Muslim.

Other than that, who knows?

I don't either. My best guess is he was going to club to scout it, see how he could do the most damage in the shortest amount of time.

ISIS: Mateen, how do you explain these photos we found of you bumping and grinding?

Mateen: I felt it my duty to carry out the espionage in convincing fashion.

They come out with the "gay" talk to shift the motive. Can't have him being violent over his religion.

There are two liberal angles to sell. If Mateen isn't Muslim, then they don't have to defend their religious tolerance position. OK, I can see that. But if Mateen is gay, then they can't talk about how gays are persecuted.

I feel like the left would rather talk about the persecution angle.

Less then 24 hours after the incident, the conspiracy theories already started flowing.

Everyone on the right is using this as a reason to continue ask expand the war on terror

Thankfully they can't unilaterally expand the war.

They're venting and pandering and desperately attempting to seem relevant and in control.

No worries.
