The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

But to answer your hypothetical question, it will greatly depend on what kind of restrictions are put into place. If Feinstein had her way, the military and police would be going door to door confiscating them.

My guess is the end result would be slightly less draconian. However, who knows with Obama.

I would imagine one could not be sold.

I wonder if there'd be restrictions on transportation (e.g. to the range).

If you don't own the AR anymore there is no need for the range. 😉

Would suck to let it go, but i guess if I had to sell it off. I will.

If one hypothetically owned an AR and a ban goes through can said person ever sell the gun?

Honestly, that thing will probably be worth it's weight in gold someday. I would never even dream of selling it should a ban go through.

so my wife and I just finished the process for TN HANDGUN CARRY PERMIT, took theclass last Saturday at Range USA ,CHIP Holland was our instructor, kept everyone awake and poked fun at my UT hat.And I (carefully)poked fun at his statement regarding MS laws, particularly the one where you cant carry in a "House of Ill Repute" "that includes Ole Miss", I responded and we had a good laugh. he covered everything,(he could in 8 hours) we will be pursuing more training, instruction and knowledge.

my question for you permit holders is how long does it actually take after DMV APP finished and paid,FINGER PRINTS to receive my actual permit? ive heard everything from 1 week recently to 3 months!

thanks! btw proud to say the wife and I both scored 100 written and 99 on the live fire test. expected of me, but my wife is new to handguns and she is 5 months pregnant! so I'm very proud of her. (I pulled one when I caught a ricochet in the hands being on the end of the line!)

Mine was right at a month.

That's not to bad,I've waited 10 yrs to start the process, what's a month?

Has anyone researched lawyers and such in case of a self defense situation arises? It's kind of difficult to find a specific one in Shelby county, most only highlight standard crime defense practices not anything as far as Handgun Permit holder type defense, after I make a list of local lawyers I want to start calling them and making a plan in case I have to one day use him to protect myself and my family in the aftermath of an encounter.

Really hoping there's not another panic...

I got this in an email today from one of my regular bulk suppliers:

SHIPPING DELAY DUE TO HIGH DEMAND - Orders placed at this time are expected to ship out by Friday the 24st.

Typically SGAmmo does a same day or next day shipping. So if it's backed up by a week, there's a panic on.

Thought I'd share an experience I had this week. I purchased a KelTec P-40 a few years ago at a gun show. I thought it would be a nice glovebox gun. Serviceable but wouldn't have to worry about a nick or two. Anyway, while shooting it one day I went to release the slide on the empty mag since I was through. When I did the assembly pin fell out on the ground. I couldn't find it in the tall grass. I called KelTec to request a replacement and they asked me to send the gun in for inspection. I took it over to UPS and they said the gun had to go next day air. It was going to cost about $60 to send it back. I was going to be close to Cocoa during my vacation this week so I just decided to bring it with me and drop it off. I dropped off the gun and they went totally through it and updated it to the latest parts which included a new barrel, replaced all the springs, and a few other parts. I dropped it off, went to lunch and it was finished by the time I got back. Asked them how much and they said "no charge."

They've got some pretty cool little guns. Check them out if you're not familiar with them.
