theoretically it could but so far we have many indications that link it to Islamic terrorism but no information of how he obtained his weapons. For all we know he followed all the "common sense" gun laws (e.g. pass background checks, etc).

Immediately blaming this on gun availability has no basis in fact at this point.

I understand that. But if all turns out as it appears to be, is it not concerning to you that an ISIS affiliated guy was able to arm himself this way ??

50 people dead and another 50 injured, it's one thing to read the statistics, but to imagine the bloodshed inside that venue is just sickening

I'm alarmed if LE had info about the guy but didn't follow through or put it in the system.

I'm alarmed if PC crap stopped people from following through on leads for this guy.

If he was an otherwise law abiding citizen who bought guns under the laws that require background checks and his was clean then I don't have a solution for that and none of the "common sense" gun laws proposed would have had any effect.

But they're all armed and dressed like the SS now-every county, township, in every state. So the statist want to militarize the police and disarm the citizenry.

Turns out he had special firearms license from the state for his security job.

Yep, more gun laws would have stopped this (blue font)

Investigated by FBI; issued special privilege firearms license by state of FL.

Can we stop with the gun laws BS or at least be honest and acknowledge nothing that's been proposed would have made any difference?

He's a trained security guard. I'm assuming that included armed security. Getting a gun after that was likely easy.

Let's say this guy was pledging support to ISIS, but wasn't linked to them other than that. He made statements of sympathy for them, that sort of thing. But no actual threats to anyone.

Is that First Amendment protected ? Or is simply expressing support for them actionable ?

That a slight overreaction don't you think? They aren't rolling up into everyday traffic stops in armored vehicles. Or with patrol rifles. Or in body armor and helmets.

And before you or others show me the video of the singular incident down in Florida, don't. It cheapens your case.

They view our civility as a weakness. I don't think civility is in order when dealing with our enemies.
