Justin hunter is an absolute physical freak

A Titan freak he's not. I hope he does it this year but I think he'll be on injured reserve quickly.

I recall when we recruited him he wanted to go to try and qualify for the '12 Olympics. He would've had to take games off in the season so I think that's why he decided against it. But there is no question, the dude is an Olympic level athlete.

His last year here he was an absolute freak at diving to avoid contact over the middle. Never seen someone do it so well or frequently who wasn't in jr. High. Would have loved to see what he could have done here with a hc who motivated and pushed him. Had a good career as it was ,but man he could have been an all time great.

I've always been a fan and supporter of Hunter.

After he was injured at UT I think fear controls him now and always will.

He disappointed me as a Vol and as a Titans fan I'm broken hearted that he hasn't risen to the level of God given abilities that he's always had.

He better get it together fast or he may not make the roster this year.

It makes me sad to have to say that.

Rise to the Top...VFL...GBO!!!

Please tell me all the wonderful QB's he had throwing to him?

Oh quit. It's no mystery that Hunter just isn't a great player anymore. He was never the same after he tore his ACL.

The Justin Hunter that played for the Vols in 2010 and part of 2011 may have been one of the best WR's to come out of UT, I think the injury just hit him too hard mentally.

Clearly you have it right on. I mean the quality of a QB has absolutely no bearing on the production of a WR. Good freaking grief.

If he had not gotten hurt in the opening drive against Florida, we would have won that darn game...

As I recall Hunter had almost 1,100 yards his last year at UT and 9 TD's with a talented Bray throwing him the ball.

So please, tell me what stellar QB's have been throwing him the ball in the NFL? Additionally, his numbers were limited by a ruptured spleen if I recall last year.

I have a feeling that he may not make it thru training camp this year. The Titans drafted him high and expect players selected that high to perform. They have already brought in Dorial Green-Beckham to replace his role on the team. D.G.B. is not consistent but if he plays a little better, the Titans will keep D.G.B. and send Hunter packing.

Had he not been injured in the Florida game, I really think we win that game. They could not stop both Da rick & Hunter. Only way we lose that game is if Dooley makes some stupid coaching moves and we get out coached.

100% accurate IMO. Anybody that cant tell the difference between pre and post injury just isnt being honest with themselves. I hyped him up as much as anybody and thought he was the next big thing but sadly the injury seemed to be worse mentally than it was physically.

Once again I will present facts. He had almost 1,100 yards his last year at UT and 9 TD's. I don't think the injury did THAT much to his psyche. He has struggled in the NFL due to having no-name QB's throwing him the ball and a ruptured spleen.

Put him on a team with at least a decent QB and he will shine

We are so blessed on VN to have lots of orthopedic surgeons, sports psychologists, and physical rehab experts on here.

A good QB definitely helps a WR, but Hunter has not shown that he can get any separation at all since being in the league. If he can stay healthy, maybe that changes, but blaming his ineffectiveness on not having a great QB is a bit off.

The guy has 1116 years over 68 catches in three years, missing many games for a spleen injury and ankle I believe. That's 16.4 yards per catch. That's pretty damn good even with horrible QB play. If he's healthy, he can be a very very good WR

Hunter has appeared in 35 games so far. He's averaging fewer than 2 catches per appearance. While he hasn't had great QB play in Nashville, 1.94 catches per game means some of it's on him. He does a poor job of getting separation and he's lazy with his route-running. It is what it is.
