Justin hunter is an absolute physical freak

The guy has 1116 years over 68 catches in three years, missing many games for a spleen injury and ankle I believe. That's 16.4 yards per catch. That's pretty damn good even with horrible QB play. If he's healthy, he can be a very very good WR

That stat line isn't considered good. I agree that he can be good if he gets healthy, but if you are trying to argue that he doesn't have issues with getting open and that being on him, then I don't know what else to tell you.

We are so blessed on VN to have lots of orthopedic surgeons, sports psychologists, and physical rehab experts on here.

Im not a expert, but he is in his contract year. Been fighting multiple nagging injuries last 3 seasons, but its time to show he belongs or not.

What I'm saying is that he is limited by QB play. Could he do a better job of getting open, yes. But many on here are blaming his lack of production solely on him being "scared" since he tore his ACL, which I think is garbage

I would be surprised if his current issues have anything to do with a 5 year old injury.

As I recall Hunter had almost 1,100 yards his last year at UT and 9 TD's with a talented Bray throwing him the ball.

So please, tell me what stellar QB's have been throwing him the ball in the NFL? Additionally, his numbers were limited by a ruptured spleen if I recall last year.

I understand what a good QB could do but the fact is there were 3 guys in 2014 on the team that did better than him and 5 guys on the team last year that did better than him. Great players can perform without a stud QB. A stud QB can just make them a superstar. I hope it clicks with Hunter this year, but having a stud QB the last 2 years might bring him up to average at best.

If he's such a stellar athlete he should make the QB look good.

Never said he didn't have his own faults. The QB play is definitely limiting him as well as his own transgressions playing the WR position in the NFL.

My main argument was that Hunter showed the ability put up good numbers post ACL tear. Many on this board seem to think Hunter was scared after he got hurt and therefore is the main reason for his lack of production. I disagree with the statement.

I was listening to 3HL on the way to work the other day and they were talking about Justin Hunter. Seems to me from the way Munchak was talking and due to the fact one of their new draft picks has been getting equal, if not more, 1st team reps it seems like the writing is on the wall.

I really hope he makes the team, and he gets a chance to shine, but I don't think we will see him on the roster this year. Now, hopefully he will get a chance elsewhere, but who knows. It's tough to say.

Would have been a good high jumper for the track team, but not a football player.

Yep, he is a track star trying to make some money as a football player but he doesn't have the heart or toughness to be one. Hope I am wrong but I bet this is his last season if he doesn't get cut before the season starts.

I swear only a UT or Ga Tech fan would think 1116 yards over 3 years is good. NFL plays 16 games a season and even with his missed games his numbers are still bad. Kendal Wright had 1,000 yards in 2013. Delane Walker has around 2,000 yards over the past 2 seasons. There are balls being thrown to receivers who show that they'll make the catch and make a play. Hunter hasn't shown that outside of one game in 2013
