2016 Election Thread Part Deux

Uh oh...

Sanders: 'The Democratic National Convention will be a contested convention' - CNNPolitics.com

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders on Saturday vowed to continue his fight for the Democratic nomination beyond the primary season, telling reporters at a news conference in Los Angeles that he plans to go after Hillary Clinton's superdelegates.

Clinton currently has 2,313 total delegates -- 1,769 of which are pledged and 544 are superdelegates -- and she is expected to cross the 2,383-delgate threshold in the next few days to clinch the nomination. But Sanders, who has 1,501 pledged delegates and only 46 superdelegates, says he can still woo enough of her superdelegates between now and the Democratic convention in July to swing the nomination his way.

Part of me wants Trump to win so that, four years later, when there's still no wall, I can laugh at you morons who really think he can do it.

So, you're voting for Trump just so you can say "I told you so!"

I suppose there are worse reasons.

Bro, do you even hypotenuse?

He had 72 ft of ladder with what he called a very small over lap. So Let's assume he's losing 4 ft of ladder from his overlap and has 68. He said the building was 55-60ft and that he still needed to put the ladder in his truck bed. If that's the case he could have made it 60ft up without his truck bed as long as he was within 31.6ft of the building.

Heroism..heroic..different things. Anyone can be "your hero". Hell the garbage man can be a kids hero. Did that garbage man do anything heroic or show heroism? Most likely not. While Ali can be a hero to some people he did nothing, like most sports folks, heroic.

McCain isnt a war hero. He survived a war and being a POW, applause for that. I once met an Air Force fireman..he told me he "was a hero". I asked how many fires he had put out and people he had saved"..None..yeah. Like the word ignorant, the word hero gets tossed around a bit too much.

Was this not a heroic act in your eyes?

I already did the math. Look up. 53ish degree angle

If the angle is the issue, then move the ladder closer. As long as it's within 32 feet, you're good

While what he did was not safe, moving it closer would have made the probability of death or injury that much higher...

Plus, putting the legs in the truck bed adds stability. I've done that before, makes it much safer.

We are taught to think of anyone that puts on a uniform as heroes regardless of what they do. Can you really blame him for thinking he is one, as well?

I believe they are heroes until their conduct says otherwise. Willing to get shot and killed, which is what they sign up for, gives them that right. Same with cops. Willing to walk into a burning building to save someone makes you someone to admire. I know RAS I just pissed in your Cheerios.

I have taken a 40 foot aluminum ladder...used ratchet straps to attach half of a 32 foot aluminum ladder to it with minimal overlap..still wouldn't reach this gable so I put it all in the bed of my truck to get that 3 more feet...lol...it was flexing badly in the middle but I had to replace some rotten soffit about 55 or 60 feet in the air above a driveway on a mcmansion. Rednecks will do dumb stuff in order to get er done. Gotta get paid though, and they don't pay til the job is done.

Damn! Trump got his wall up and going way before the election. I'm impressed.

Call me crazy, but that ladder doesn't look that sturdy...

Taking redneck engineering to what even rednecks would consider unsafe levels.

I meant for this pic to go with my previous comment about Trump's wall.

Agree. It was just bad phraseology.

Agree on the phraseology. Donald Trump seems to say the first thing that hits his mind (if everyone hadn't noticed by now) and kinds of reminds me of Dan Quayle in that regard. The difference being is Trump tends to get a pass because...he's Trump.
