VT message board on our Thursday night game

I moved to Lynchburg, VA right after graduating from UT. Football season was a nightmare - almost impossible to find a station carrying Tennessee (when not travelling). You would have thought the VA schools were at the top of the football world - maybe it's hard to realize what you don't have when you've never had it.

I guy I work with is a season ticket holder @ Tech. He talks to some of their boosters regularly he says most of them want an annual game with Penn St more than anything. He says that most of their alumni from eastern shore are all about that.

They truly believe they will shut Dobbs and company down. And they also think their offense is a huge secret like UT cant watch the Memphis tapes from last year.

Unless they managed to sneak Paxton Lynch on the team, they won't have anything close to Memphis' offense...

Wouldn't be shocked if UT admin lobbied for the change.

I believe bud had the team learning the bear defense throughout the summer
To prepare for Ohio state. I'm sure the coaches are doing something similar for Tennessee. 2 days wont change a thing

Anyone notice the SEC neutral games always favor the SEC? Bama in Atlanta
and now two more days to prepare for VT than VT for UT.

Maybe it's just me, but I find this disgusting.

I'm sure the Hokies will all be watching the game
I'm sure Tech is already far more in tune with Tennesse's offense than the Vols are of Fuente's and VTs.

Bless their hearts

This was a welcome laugh after the BS that is being spouted on the actual Thursday night game thread.

None of this talk matters. Va Tech has recruited with an average recruiting ranking of about #30 in the nation. If this sounds familiar then you are correct, that is about where Kentucky recruits. Do we fear Kentucky? Yeah, didn't think so.

All these people talking about Tech's nasty defense and great defensive coordinator are only thinking on reputation.

Just like their offense, Tech's defense has limited talent, and the DL is their weakest in years. Foster's defenses have been up and down in the last half decade, playing some of the weakest schedules for major schools in the country. To top it off, anyone of any count off last year's middling defense has left.

UT will win 24 -14. The fact that some of you think this is going to be a cakewalk for the Vols is a little foolish....IMO

I'll put it the same way I did to people who thought Northwestern was going to be close.

UT is more talented. It ain't that close. UT should win by 3 plus scores.

The combined records of the teams they beat last year was 29-56. They only beat one team with a winning record. The avg win total of the opponents they beat was just over 4 games. N Texas and Vandy were the only two teams UT played with 4 or less wins.

Their only saving grace was some terrible opponents.

I think the results of that game will be very close to the last time we met them in the 2009 Chick Filet Bowl only in reverse 37-14.

a team runs up the score on another team.
In the case of VT, I would make an exception.
60-3 would be good.
Because I hate VT.
I worked in SW Virginia for years and had to listen
to their ****. "They hate TN."
VT fans are delusional and they are all related to
each other. They call each other cuz, and for good
reason.

Go Vols!.

Thinking 48-10. And that's being generous to them. In fact, it is likely going to be embarrassing for Va Tech. There may never be a Second Battle of Bristol, at least not as long as there is living Hokie leadership memory of this match.

3 safeties, 3 field goals or 3 touchdowns?
