VT message board on our Thursday night game

a team runs up the score on another team.
In the case of VT, I would make an exception.
60-3 would be good.
Because I hate VT.
I worked in SW Virginia for years and had to listen
to their ****. "They hate TN."
VT fans are delusional and they are all related to
each other. They call each other cuz, and for good
reason.

Go Vols!.

Wish I could hit like 7,000 more times. I feel your pain

I live 10 mins from VT. Hate it.

I live about 45 minutes from Bristol. This year has been the quietest from Tech fans that I can remember. I went to the 2009 Chik-fil-a Bowl with a carload of Tech fans and got so much crap the way home. They best believe I won't forget that in September.

Live in Southern Maryland and there are a lot of hokie fans here that are talking smack. Can't wait for a beat down to humble them. Hopefully we don't take our foot off the gas once we get up by a few scores.

One thing worth noting about VT in 2015 is that they were a pretty scrappy team. Of their 6 losses:

  • 3 came by a combined 9 points (UNC, Duke, Pitt)
  • One came by 7 points (ECU)
  • One came by 10 points (Miami)
  • The other was by 18 points (OSU)

They'll be breaking in some new starters on defense and installing a new offensive system, so I've no doubt we'll get ours against them. We compare more closely to OSU than any of those other teams listed (UNC and Miami do have some talented players, though). But I do expect VT to have a plan and to fight tooth and nail. I don't see them rolling over if we pile on early.

I hav no doubt that they will fight to the end and will even manage to keep it close for the ist half. Our talent will simply take control and run them into the ground in the second half. We win by at least 3tds

If we get up by a few scores it's ballgame. VT just doesn't have the horses to rally on our D

What pisses me off about this is it got 2 likes.

Well, there are 3 gator regulars around here.... :)

[just kidding, I know there are a half dozen Vols fans who fawn over our lizard visitors as well, so you just pull those panties out of your butt crack before you hit FlameOnRespond, mister. Hehe.]. :eek:hmy:

Why in the world is any Hokie fan discussing us moving our Appy State game back by about a day and a half? Do any of those fans from maybe the 7th best team in the ACC really, honestly believe that Tennessee, a top 10-15 team in the country and an odds-on favorite to play in the SECCG in December, changed the game the try an eek out every possible hour/minute/second possible to prepare for mighty Va Tech who is in rebuild mode with a new head coach and staff? Haha. That can't possibly be what they're saying/thinking over there, can it? If it is, you can't make this stuff up.

VT fans are definitely delusional. I live in the Tri-Cities Kingsport/Bristol/Johnson City area. The local factories Eastman and Domtar are full of Gate City Va residents. I guess the Hob Nob drive in has hired all the waitresses then can so they have to go somewhere. As far back as I can remember they have held tight to the delusion that VT is an NCAA Football powerhouse.

Come on, KB....you've been on this board long enough to know how this works. :loco:

Don't be hating on the Hob Knob, they have some damn good food.

You're right. Mine was simply a rhetorical rant....answered my own question. 😁😐

I still hold the belief that by the time the VT game rolls around there will be a thread or 2 about how opening with App. St. on Thursday night hurts the Vols by giving the VT coaches 2 more days to prepare for UT. :thud:

If we have a close game against VT, we can kiss the playoffs goodbye. I disagree on keeping it close to the half, we always start fast. I think we are up by 2 TD's by the half and Dormady sees time in the 4th.

New thread over on their crappy board today techsideline.Com asking what happens after they pull the upset at bristol.. VT isn't even on the same planet as UT right now talent wise.

They still have one of the best DC in college football and they were good enough to stop Ohio State two years ago. I think we will win, but don't expect a blowout. Dobbs will have to be MUCH improved as a passer for that to happen.
We could decide to not pass the ball once the entire game and still win by 17+. And that's with us even telling Tech of our non-passing plans beforehand.

Oh, it'll happen.

Lol I'm from Kingsport, my family is from Gate City and I work at the big E. There are way more Vol fans in all three of those places than Tech fans. It's just that the Tech fans are more obnoxious and you remember them more.

Only if close means we lose. That would pose a problem. We could still win our way into the championship. VT is no Bama, but I would bet all your money that everything they do from now til the game will be to prepare for the battle. I don't know who they play 1st, but I bet they will over look them and still destroy them, just like we will do for Appy. I don't see them being as good as NU, but that is based off minimal information. Is that a fair comparison? And , I think #120 will be better than the team that played NU.

Jump higher Vols.
