9-1-16? (Vols' season opener moved to Thursday)

If you are going to say it's literally 100% different then there would be no similarities. Excuses about workdays, kids in school, hotel bookings, travel are the same. So, you're wrong.

Read his post, read your reply, then think. There is literally no way in hell you think a game played for the national championship is the same as a season opener against Appy State. At least I hope.

Nobody would be making those "excuses" in the situation you're talking about. They simply wouldn't have bought tickets because they knew they knew they couldn't go to the game. That's my biggest source of frustration, the fact that the AD prioritizes a few extra eyeballs on TV ahead of doing right by the donation-making, season ticket-buying segment of the fanbase.

So your assumption implies no one requests a day of, allows their kid to miss a day of school, or any other nonsensical reasoning to voice their fake anger which is very prevalent in society today. Last I checked, the hotels in the area are already working with people who reserved rooms for that weekend. The tickets are still good for the game. So again, I fail to understand the *****ing and moaning when anyone planning to travel to the game outside of at least 3-4 hours has anything to really gripe about. And how many people do you think bought individual tickets to the Appalachian State game? My guess is most people complaining got the ticket as part of their season ticket package. Then would I ask how many games per year do these out of town season ticket holders miss? I doubt very seriously they go to every game. Matter of fact the opener on Saturday at noon may have been one they missed.

You can line 1,000 people behind you to back your opinion, it doesn't make it anymore true. I spelled out the similarities. It's up to you and others upset about nothing to figure it out.

you dont have kids, do you?

My son plays HS football. He has practice on Thursday night as well as a game on Friday nite. Our plan was to leave early on Saturday morning. Now we cant. No the coach wont let him out of practice just like Butch wouldnt let a player out of a practice to go to an NFL game. We already bought the tickets. If we had known earlier this game was on Thursday we wouldnt have purchased the tickets. Its not about rearranging a schedule months in advance. Its about changing the date after the purchase was made.

One thing you got right was failing. Failing to see how this effects others.

more chance of winning the NC by losing to Appy St than losing in the NC.

You can do it. Very difficult, odds weighed against you, and need some help but it can be done so no, its not as stupid as comparing the Appy St game to the NC game.

Can you give an example of a team that got beat by a marginal team and won the National Championship? And let's at least start with the BCS era seeing as though there was only one National Champion per season from that point forward.

I bet he names one faster than you can name a team who lost the NC game but won the NC.

Here we go with this nonsense. 'You don't have kids don't you'. Is that the only way you can bring any validity to this? You inferred yourself this isn't a big game. Do you go to more than one game a year? Can you not get your money back? I'm sure this will be addressed by the university. If you get a refund, are you still angry? If so, you have a you problem.

Lol. Not very bright are you? (And neither is the person that liked this) How would he be able to name an event that never occurred over an impossible occurrence?

Did you even read the rest? I gave you an exact reason why this move screws me.but you're too busy not wanting to understand and wanting to stop reading after the first sentence. Read the rest and you'll understand.

Honestly, if the AD would simply refund me the money for my ticket to this game, I'd be fine with the situation. I emailed them Friday when the news came out, but doubt I'll even receive a response, and definitely don't expect a refund. If they gave a single **** about their paying customers, they wouldn't have rescheduled the game to begin with.

Stop deflecting yourself and name a team or admit you cant. Simple.

Patiently waiting and answer.......

This is your nonsense. I'm not jumping on the hand grenade for you. Last, I checked you were the one that suggested a team could lose to a marginal team and win a NC. I don't feel the least bit bad for your situation. People with your attitude creates your own grief.

Now you know what I read and what I didn't? I addressed part of your complaint before you even mentioned your high school son in football. Follow your own advice and don't pass off your deficiencies on others.

The way you choose to spell similarities appears to be the issue. The fact that you aren't capable of seeing that isn't my problem, it's yours.

What they care about is the program. Most of the people in the athletic department realize when the team doesn't exceed expectations are fickle fans do stupid protests such as no show games like in the Dooley era or start petitions. So if they felt that rescheduling the game allowed the team the opportunity to get a better result as far as the overall season goes, I'm all for it. The cold reality is winning will generate revenue. Butthurt fans angry over a game 3 and 1/2 months away will hardly put a dent in their bottom line.

Deflecting to spelling while I'm debating 3 posters tells me you need stay out of the argument all together. It's obvious you are in over your head. Maybe you should go to the Scripps Howard spelling bee thread. Let me guess, I bet you think the lawsuit is legitimate too, don't you?

I have already made plane reservations for The Battle at Bristol, so I empathize with people regarding this switch. When you travel long distance to games, you gotta book everything early

2014 Ohio State is National. They lose game 2 to a highly inferior VaTech team that went 6-6.

Balls in your court, Einstein. I gave you a team that lost to an inferior team early and won the NC. Now you produce a team that lost the NC game and won the championship or shut up.

Don't resort to idiocy. It just makes you look stupid and doesn't do anything to validate your argument.

You have yet to make one valid point in this entire exchange. Don't think I would refer to anyone as 'stupid' or an 'idiot' unless you want to look....well you figure it out.

Va Tech is on the level of a team that was FBS school a couple of years ago? You're clueless. And remind me, who are you again to tell me to shut up? You've proven nothing, but I'll let you and the other Social Justice Warriors in this thread soothe each others egos and think you actually made a valid point. Sorry you guys are too incompetent to figure out alternate plans 3 and 1/2 months from now.
