I don't really know or care about the ancient past. All I know is when I started following Tennessee football we traded wins and losses with Florida in the early 2000s when both programs were good. Then we became garbage they got Urban Meyer and proceeded to destroy us. Then we got even worse and everyone started beating is including down Florida teams.
You can go back to 1976. I'll just focus on the games and teams I watched play.
I don't know why it's so hard for yall to accept the fact this program has been hot pile of horse manure the last 10 years. We've only climbed out of the abyss last year.
You can put me on the record right now. If we lose to Florida again this year (short of a myriad of catatrophic injuries to our star players) I'll join you in this belief that supernatural forces are keeping Tennessee from beating Florida.
If we win however I don't wanna hear any of this crap again. You deserve what you get. Nothing has kept Tennessee from winning other than lack of talent. PERIOD.
And south carolina has beaten florida 4 out of the last 5 years, and D4H still wants to blame talent on us losing 11 straight years....
Dude, we've sucked. And when we haven't Fla. Outplayed, or out coached us. Sometimes the better team loses. Memphis beat OM. OM beat Bama, Bama won a NC, but could Memphis? What exactly are you trying to imply? That were cursed? Or that it's mental, or we suck? I'd have to agree that mentally, it does matter a lot and always has. It used to be who decided the East, still can be. Every UT team wants to be the one to break the streak. So, yeah, the pressure is on. But more times than not, it's going to be the better team and coach. Last year, we fielded a better team that day. The coaches got out coached. I think Butch learned that and Shoop could change it
Be careful. Theres a search feature that allows us to look up posts from the past.
Id hate to research that post where you declared Tennessee easily more talented last season.
Id also hate to list all the teams, like Georgia Southern, that somehow managed to get it done

Per 247 recruiting rankings for UT vs Florida:
2007: 3rd (UT) 1st Florida (I would call that a wash)
2008: 34th 6th Florida (anomaly year)
2009: 8th 7th Florida (wash)
2010: 9th 1st Florida (not a wash, but close)
2011: 14th 11th Florida (basically a wash)
2012: 20th 4th Florida (more talent Florida)
2013: 24th 3rd Florida (more talent Florida)
2014: 7th 9th Florida (wash)
2015: 4th 21st Florida (more talent UT)
2016: 14th 13th Florida (wash)
So 3 out of the past 10 recruiting cycles Florida has a significantly better class than us, while one of those years we have had a significantly better recruiting class. The other years essentially being a wash, since you yourself D4H said if your not recruiting top 5/10 you're not competitive.
So further explain why we haven't been able to beat them based on the GIGANTIC talent disparity? Seems to me there have been some pretty equal talent levels per recruiting, but we still can't beat them.
The last 11 years have nothing to do with next year.
Hmm, that's odd, because I seem to remember Clemson competing with the big boys the past few years, and making it to the NC game, losing only by 5 points, all with only ONE class ranked inside the top 10 in the past 5 years.
So keep making that asinine assumption. You're throwing sh*$ at the wall hoping it sticks.

That's why I'm focusing on recruiting rankings so much. I did the whole looking at talent on the field and thought Florida would be terrible last year. Instead they were really good last year not only beating us almost everyone else in the SEC as well.
If I paid more attention to the recruiting rankings I wouldn't have made that mistake.

they had an all world defense.
the offense as piiiitiiiifuuuuullll.
They scored 38 on ole miss with Will Grier. They were good. 7 players drafted.
Stop disrespecting them. With how much talent they've put in the league the last 2 years, I consider those 2 one-point losses impressive now. We definitely overachieved.
