HBO's "Game of Thrones"

this show does love to foreshadow, and use innuendo. love the Valyrian statue behind Arya after her fight scene. could totallt see an army of stone men using dragon glass laiden swords of Valyrian steel with Arya at the helm, against White Walkers.

It may be too much to hope that we never see Dorne again, but it looks like they went for the scorched earth tactic. Apparently the best way to avenge Oberyn is to exterminate his family line. Awful storyline and a waste of Dr. Bashir.

Also, only 47 minutes is kind of a ripoff.

Good episode though. A lot of moving parts.

I hate D&D for what they have done to Dorne. I hope Jaime and Cersei burn Dorne from Starfall to Sunspear. Such a fricking waste. Most of the rest was ok

I'm actually going to play devil's advocate about Dorne. I thought it was a great direction to go. The Dornish are absolute killers, and Doran really was a bit too much on the "peace" side of things. You don't kill a Dornishman without consequences.

They just set up a King's Landing/Dorne war.

My favorite part was oblivious Areo Hotah getting stabbed in the back when a known criminal is standing right behind him and the entire family guard just watching Doran get shanked. I guess those Sand Snakes are pretty convincing.

Also, I thought his son was going to King's Landing, so how did he end up back with the Sand Snakes?

Yea continuity issue there. Also didn't Mel take off her ruby without turning into Dobby the house elf before

Makes sense in terms of the show's plotting, but Dorne can't win a straight up fight against the crown's alliance. Unless they ally with Daenerys somehow, but without Doran there isn't really any connection there.

I think it was just my book reader bias showing but you make an ok point. And that Dornishman chose his fight. Acting like he was murdered is kind of silly

No I completely agree, I think that's the bulk of why Doran never acted (that an his overpeacefulness). Obviously the Sand Snakes and Ellaria are a bit irrational, but I do think they are probably representing some more traditional Dornish in the sense of not letting anyone kill one of their own, no matter the reason.

Where is Littlefinger? Also I forget the guy's name that with Tyrion for most of the first couple of seasons but did he die? It's been a while and can't remember, especially with how many deaths there are. Lol

I think they somehow got into the boat. Bad writing at its best.

I'm sure we'll get Littlefinger in the next episode or two.

Bronn was in Dorne with Jamie. I assume he got on the ship back to Kings Landing and just wasn't in this episode.

Littlefinger is still in King's Landing. Doing what, I have no clue. Bronn returned to King's Landing with Jaime, although they didn't show him tonight.

I have a feeling that Bronn will make quite the return, at some point.

The first episode of this season certainly got a bunch of balls rolling. Nice timing with the free HBO preview on Direct, cable, et al.

I don't mind the Dorne stuff as much as some people. I kinda dig the Sand Snakes. Although I didn't really care for how they were just able to kill the prince and his son. Like no guards were loyal to the current prince besides the one they killed? Seriously? Eh.

Seems like the Red Woman has been humbled to a degree. Maybe she gives her life to bring back Jons somehow?

Theon/Sansa/Brienne/Podrick will be an interesting group to watch for sure.

found the Dorne storyline to be pretty underwhelming last season, but i can't say the same for this season. wasn't expecting that at all, or at least certainly not so early into the season lol not even 30 mins in and they killed half of the dorne characters. i'm kind of upset we didn't get much areo hotah.

great season premiere overall. it's so exciting that the majority (roughly 90% or so) is uncharted waters for everyone.
