2016 Election Thread Part Deux

Bull. ****. There was no swing whatsoever. No angle on that video is ever going to portray a "swing" by any means.
She was closely surrounded by a lot of people. It was her best attempt at a punch , considering people were right on top of her. It isn't like she could spin around and do a flying kick. She should be charged with assault, and so should the pepper sprayer, unless that is who she punched or security.

Answer the question about what would happen to the 2 rednecks if they did exactly what she did at a Hillary/Bernie rally, and would Hillary/Bernie be responsible for whatever happened?

If said redneck pushed at a Bernie/Hillary supporter and got pepper sprayed for it?

Yeah, the beholder of the spray would be in the wrong.

I never said Trump was responsible at all.

Yeah, that's why the police are looking to charge her instead of looking for the person who allegedly groped her and the one doing the spraying.

Neither should be charged.

You are a former cop..... She made a complaint and they are investigating and will decide charges from there.

I don't hate Trump at all. I think he's a clown that's unfortunately going to win the nomination. Doesn't stop me from looking at a situation and deciding the mouth breathers he's attracting are dangerous and will end up seriously hurting or killing someone before it's all said and done. More than they have already.

What I don't abide is someone deciding to OC a teenage girl after she shoved at someone she felt groped her.
Sounds like you are blaming Trump to me.

I thought it was quite clever. Some of you folks are driving me to Trump because he gets under your skin, and I didn't vote for him.

I'm glad we mean so much to you that us anonymous internet posters can drive you towards a political candidate lol. Just admit, you love you some Trump. Be loud and be proud!

I will vote for Hitler, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Stalin, Mussolini, Castro, Pinochet, Duvalier, or whoever runs against Hillary.

We will have to agree to disagree. I would say that the pepper sprayer had it at the ready because it was a heated situation. So, I am not "better than this" I guess.

Has anyone ever considered that some of these things may be staged? Dirty tricks have been a part of politics for a very long time, and reality shows have proven again and again that people have no shame.

For the first time in a couple months I'm starting to believe Trump will not be the nominee.

It has been an exceptionally loony week-long stretch for Trump, starting last week with his foreign policy pronouncements. I think it has been the looniest of his entire campaign, just when it was becoming clear he was going to be the nominee and needed to start "presidentializing." Instead, he just double, hell, quadruple-downed on the lunacy.

Before this past week, I could rationalize Trump's support, although I largely thought it stupid. Now, it's difficult for me to either understand or respect (at least on this particular matter) anyone who takes him seriously. They must think their country is a joke. Only thing I can figure. Being mad at the establishment is understandable, but this is no longer about that: it's taken on a life of its own.

He didn't hit her.... The guy pushed her and then put his arms up and tried to walk away which she kept running towards and took a swing at him.... Not sure who did the pepper spray but if it was a man he deserves ridicule..... You act like the guy attacked her when he pushed her back and tries to walk away.

I'd bet a lot of cops using pepper spray on protesters might object to someone demeaning their manhood.

I continue to believe Cruz would be worse than Trump. Of the sewage pool of candidates we've been proffered, he's the most repulsive flotsam.

On domestic policymaking, Cruz would be a disaster, while Trump would probably be average.

On foreign policy, both are horrible, while Trump would probably be the disaster.

In terms of intergroup relations and domestic unity, Trump would be the worst president we've had, perhaps ever. I think American "unity" would be pre-Civil War levels after four years of a Trump presidency.

While Americans are busy whining about the next batch of PC college kids ruining their country, it escapes many of them that perhaps the biggest problem currently facing the nation is that many seem to value the cult ahead of the nation.

It makes no difference who the Republicans put up. He will be called a racist, a bigot, homophobe, misogynist, and a tyrant. There will never be unity, unless we are attacked as a country. The left despises the right, and the feeling is mutual. I think that the government wants us at each other's throats, and the media eggs it on for ratings.

Everything is about perception, and there is no doubt that the biggest things to influence perception since the printing press, radio, and then television, has been the 24/7 news cycle, the Internet, and social media. Social media, in particular, makes everyone think the world is burning, when, in fact, it's just a slightly hot day at the beach and all we really need is just a little extra lotion.

Donald Trump's 3 positions on abortion in 3 hours - CNNPolitics.com

The fact that he said something so extreme that even pro-life organizations disavowed it and then completely contradicted his comments an hour later should be extremely concerning. He's a chameleon. WTF are this guy's actual beliefs on any issue?

I obviously don't know the records of each person who has ever ran for president, but I would wager Trump may be the most ambiguous we've ever had. In fact, Trump is so ambiguous that his ambiguity seems to be his platform.

He has an unprecedentedly amorphous platform. And because he's literally held every position in the book at some point, people can mold him into whatever they want him to be. Even "Make America Great Again" - what does that mean? To some people Trump represents a pragmatist centrist who is just making stuff up as he goes along to appeal to the most vulnerable segment of the population (although I'm finding this one less and less believable by the hour). To others he's the strongman who will keep them warm at night, regale them with fairy tales about American exceptionalism, and force the rest of the world to respect America once more. And still to others he's an outlet to express their rage at PC culture, or to show their disgust with the establishment at the ballot box.

It has been an ingenious primary campaign strategy, but I have to agree with you that he seems even more unhinged lately.
