After rewatching highlights and bits and pieces of games from 2015 over the past few weeks, I think the most underappreciated and in many ways impressive win of Butch's career may be the Missouri game.

Yeah, their offense was completely inept, but that was a game where Tennessee easily could have lost 9-6 or 12-9 or something equally disgusting. Mizzou, a team with a 3-game win streak against UT and a great defense, was playing for a bowl and their cancer-stricken coach. In the cold in Columbia. At night.

But the game plan that the coaches took to Columbia was perfect. They knew that 14-17 points was enough to win it, and while it's great to have a solid plan, the team still has to be able to execute. And that's where that game is so impressive--the Vols imposed their will on Missouri all night. Pinkel waved the white flag by punting late in the game with favorable down and distance just to get it over with because he saw how badly the Vols were beating the Tigers in the trenches.

Hurd breaking off run after run to kill the clock and seal the victory was so satisfying to watch. The Vols haven't done that in YEARS against a good defense, but we've seen it happen to us over and over and over again. Think about all the UF, UGA, etc., games where the score was at least somewhat close, but the clock was moving at an alarming pace and we just couldn't get their offense off the field. Such a helpless feeling as a fan, but the Vols were finally able to turn the tables.

That's how Alabama almost never falls victim to upsets under Saban, even though they frequently win games that look close on paper. They just maul teams late in the game and preserve small leads by not making mistakes, forcing quick 3 and outs, and pounding the rock.

I think that Butch and DeBord can be extremely successful here if they can continue to field offenses that are capable of scoring a lot of points very fast when needed (UGA 2015) and capable of slowing things down and controlling time of possession and field position (Missouri 2015) in low-scoring games.

These are my favorite type of posts on here. After a long night in the film room watching last years games, you inevitably come to the conclusion that we're just in pretty damn good hands, and it might just all be okay.

I remember feeling super giddy after that win. And the South Carolina win last year. Just games that we so would have lost just a year or two earlier. It was like you were watching a devastating loss play out in front of you, but then we just finished them off and got out of there with a win instead. Ugly games. But such a huge relief, and you realize style points dont really matter all that much. They're nice. But a win is a win is a win is a win, and you will take them however you can get them.

Excited for many more coming up soon.

If one were to visit nike . com, one may discover fashionable University of Tennessee textiles, at reduced prices, which may then incur the loss of disposable income.

This may have also just become a problem for someone who lives in Thailand, who may or may not be myself.

Nick, you're in Thailand. You can walk up to the factory where said textiles are made for 10 cents, spend 50 bucks and have the entire line. Heck for 1000 USD you could probably buy the factory. :)

Seriously, Nike actually has 73 factories in Thailand and the Thai textile and garment industry is one of the largest in the world.

Not to be argumentative but I really do think it is that simple. We can't sell immediate playing time for the most part. We have talent and everyone knows it. If we lay an egg in two of the big three, Bama, GA, and Florida, other coaches will and can make the case that we squander talent.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. :)

I will also add, we need to beat A&M as well to ensure that if we do drop UGA or Florida and don't beat Bama, we still are in the running. There are certainly 3 SEC games on each of their schedules they can drop so we don't lose a tiebreaker for 1st.

Nick, when can I place my order?

:)

No seriously...

Tennessee hasn't lost to aTm in football
2016 is not the year we lose to aTm.

Tennessee will roll in to kyle field undefeated and absolutely destroy the aggies.

Let it be written
Let it be done.
