What's happened when these same groups have crashed other candidates' speeches and rallies before? Not violence, I can tell you that much.

Fact: Images from Trump rallies could double as images from the Civil Rights Era.

Fact: Trump attracts more racists and bigots than any other candidate.

Fact: Trump attracts people willing to resort to physical violence for their politics.

False: Trump wants us to return to the pre-Civil Rights Era and to actually subjugate black people.

Did that last admission compensate enough?

I think you are making the mistake of confusing DNC talking points with facts.

Generalizations are not facts.

He didn't claim all of his supporters were resulting to violence. Only that he attracts some people who do resort to violence. Once again, that's a fact. There's several different times this has happened, to include videos of the incidents.

Hillary has repeatedly said that the fight against ISIS needs to take place in the air, on the ground, and in cyberspace, but stressed that a full-scale war with American troops in the Middle East would not be wise.

So...we should but we shouldn't.

No, it's not a fact. We have no idea if Trump supporters are more prone to violence, or if the protestors that show up intentionally agitative for press. This is not a fact but a matter of perspective.

He didn't say they were more prone to violence.

IMO, Rubio won the debate last night. I saw this posted and it's so true..

When Donald Trump answers the question: What is 2+2?
"I have to say a lot of people have been asking this question. No, really. A lot of people come up to me and they ask me. They say, 'What's 2+2'? And I tell them look, we know what 2+2 is. We've had almost eight years of the worst kind of math you can imagine. Oh my God, I can't believe it. Addition and subtraction of the 1s the 2s and the 3s. It's terrible. It's just terrible. Look, if you want to know what 2+2 is, do you want to know what 2+2 is? I'll tell you. First of all the number 2, by the way, I love the number 2. It's probably my favorite number, no it is my favorite number. You know what, it's probably more like the number two but with a lot of zeros behind it. A lot. If I'm being honest, I mean, if I'm being honest. I like a lot of zeros. Except for Marco Rubio, now he's a zero that I don't like. Though, I probably shouldn't say that. He's a nice guy but he's like, '10101000101,' on and on, like that. He's like a computer! You know what I mean? He's like a computer. I don't know. I mean, you know. So, we have all these numbers, and we can add them and subtract them and add them. TIMES them even. Did you know that? We can times them OR divide them, they don't tell you that, and I'll tell you, no one is better at the order of operations than me. You wouldn't believe it. So, we're gonna be the best on 2+2, believe me."

:eek:lol:

Not generally, no. But in this specific case, yes, you appear to be.

Look, Trump attracts hooligans, many of whom tend to be racists. That images that appear to be from the 60s would come from his rallies shouldn't shock anyone.

Appearing to and being reasonably objective about the whole thing are two completely different items entirely.

During my initial employee orientations, I tend to tell people "you can't cram 85,000 people inside the same place without having a knucklehead or two." While that 85,000 isn't an arbitrary number (OU stadium seating capacity) the same can be said about the record number of individuals showing up for Trump rallies. You're going to get an idiot (or bunch) involved. We've even had members of this board go to Trump rallies, are they going because they are drawn to the perceived racist message?

Look, Trump's ultra-nationalistic approach to things is going to attract those kinds of mouth breathers. Just look at some of the individuals on this forum that support him without question as Trump is "bleeding red, white and blue!" Does that mean he's George Wallace reborn? No, even you admit that. And even you need to admit his speeches aren't any comparison to Wallace's fiery rhetoric from the 60s.

It's very simple to fall into the trap of broad sweeping generalizations of Trump's supporter base. But if anything has shown this election, nothing can or should be generalized or predicted.

I can see where Kasich is coming from given that he's in better position in Ohio than Rubio in FL. However, those FL delegates are absolutely huge if you have an interest in no Trump.

The problem is Rubio can play spoiler in Ohio to Kasich just like he did in Vermont. And Kasich can do the same thing in Florida to Rubio just like what happened in Virginia.

It's all part of the campaign though.

Time the f out. You are a professor at an institution of higher learning and you think the issues you stated above are facts? Jesus.

Not one of them is a fact. Not one.

How in the hell did this get 10 likes?

None of them facts? What the hell?

Just the one about him attracting people willing to resort to violence alone can be proven. Have you slept through his rallies or something?

I know you don't like me, because you think I'm arrogant, but what the hell, guy?

You're trying too hard. Are you a Trumpite, or something?

Clay Travis is obviously not a political analyst of repute or by trade, but I think he often does a good job of being an equal opportunity critic, especially when it comes to social issues. This appeared today in his weekly mailbag, and I think he's largely right. I was actually just thinking about the correlation yesterday.

Jake writes:

"Hey Clay enjoy your work. I've been thinking about this for the past couple months. Is the Black Lives matter supporter the same person as the typical Trump supporter that you see on TV, but born in different colors of skin? I feel like if the same person was born in the opposite skin they would take the opposite point of view. They blame their current status in life on other people that has nothing to do with their life. I'm not talking about every BLM or Trump supporter but when I hear each of them speak I just feel like they are the same person."

Well said.

What unites both of these groups is a belief rooted in deep-seated anger that outside forces beyond their control are keeping them from being as successful as they would otherwise be. With Trump supporters it's illegal immigrants and trade deals and dishonest leaders. With Black Lives Matter supporters it's racism and racist police and a generally racist country.

I think you're right, if you swapped races here, black lives matter protesters would be Trump supporters and Trump supporters would be black lives matter activists.

Which also explains why these two groups hate each other so much too, right? Because deep down they're motivated by the same emotions, they are the same people.

Double ouch. Some of the comments are damaging for Kasich. His campaign would have been much better off just not responding. Don't really understand his logic by coming off as a jack azz with that response.

Scalia ‏@Mattfobrien
@kronayne Oh. Well, my plan was to move to Kasich support if Rubio dropped, but that's over. What an idiot.

Sabrina Kary ‏@karybirdie
@Mattfobrien @kronayne that was my plan too but he's starting to piss me off.

Gina Dalfonzo ‏@ginadalfonzo
.@kronayne Way to bite the hand that feeds them!

Laura McGinnis ‏@Txsleuthe
@kronayne This is how Kasich "thanks" Rubio for asking people to vote for him? Screw Kasich then. What a bastard.

@marcorubio supporters, do NOT, do NOT vote for Kasich. Vote for Rubio in Florida and in Ohio. #Marcomentum

John ‏@jermsguy
@kronayne Sheesh, what a jerk.

It was his campaign manager that made the comment. I'm not sure Kasich, who so far has been above such pettiness, would have made such a public announcement in such a snide way.
