Hate to play the conspiracy theory card, but it's awfully odd that as soon as we start making our way back to the top and close to challenging for sec titles that this ish gets brought up. May be nothing at all but the timing is very coincidental to say the least.

McKenzie was the biggest recruit I’ve seen who can move the way he does and that includes Al Woods. He’s a zero technique at the NFL level, but he moves well enough to make plays in a 4-3 as a 3-tech as well. He had a lot of bad weight but was still so dominant pushing the pocket and chasing things outside the tackles that we couldn’t hold it against him. He’s off to a good start to his career and if he trims down a bit and gets a bit quicker NFL teams will be drooling over him in a few years.

Prob connected to Bama somehow

Hubbs said he doesn't see Butch losing his job over this. The worst allegation against him is obviously the Bowles thing, but that can't really be proven.

That said, I could certainly see things elevating to a point (through more allegations and mudslinging) where Butch is either fired to appease the national media or pulls a Cuonzo and leaves of his own volition.

Or scenario three. The team, community and coaches all take the situation seriously and implement policy to protect victims and the accused. The team, community and coaches get tired of the attacks and rally behind one another. The team, community and coaches win on the field and off it creating an example that other schools follow.

That's not gonna happen.

All this stuff is strategically timed for release to keep the story in the news in hopes of pushing UT into a settlement. They are trying this in the media. They get to throw any accusations they like with zero ramifications if proven as fabrications. They are using the media as their mouth piece and the media doesn't seem to care.

Good grief- just when things calm down the slightest bit the storm returns. Did The War Room hint at what might be coming now? I just don't see how Butch would go down with only the Bowles allegations at this point. He has immediately suspended Every Single Player who has ever been in any kind of trouble to let the law do their due diligence. What more can the man do?! And at the same time, UNC has had a fake college for years and Louisville has hookers and god knows what else but let's bring down UT instead national media.

All players involved, at least the football players, were immediately suspended as soon as allegations were made known. What else were they supposed to do, take them out back of Neyland and throw rocks at them?

Which is why I don't see Butch being the scapegoat if the lawsuit went sideways. Even the most steadfast anti-UT person would have to admit Butch handle the cases on his watch properly (immediately suspended, etc). Anything else they would want done, and I'm not really sure what else they want short of a firing squad, would have to come from the admin level.

I would imagine Hart would be the sacrificial lamb in that scenario.

If it is the primary function of the press and the defendants and their lawyer's to try and slam UT then the dogs need to be released.

Let the courts handle the accusations to prove right or wrong or if laws were broken between 2 individuals that require charges brought.

Ut needs to be looking out for itself and making it their priority to tear every person associated with this, known and unknown, a new one. It's fair game, and it doesn't matter how it looks or how anyone perceives that act as "mean" or "harsh", it's to disprove a lie and show there is no validity or 100% proof of such accusations.

Any person that truly believes that any university, through all of it's levels of bureaucracy and oversight, would willfully allow any situation where it's 1 student, athlete, or even an employee to be protected in any sticky situation where that protection would or could mean substantial monetary and legal recourse against the university as a whole is a fool and completely not living in reality.

Yes, but the longer it goes, the less run in the media it gets.

They are gonna need to drop a lot of pretty big bombshells to stay in the headlines over the long haul. Eventually they are gonna run out of bullets.

Besides, people have a million other things to care about. The people paying attention to this case will be interested in a Lamar Odom hospital stay or a celebrity sex change soon and will forget all about it.

This is one of the biggest issues I have with this case and others like it.

Buckle up, folks. War Room hinted that the lawsuit mess isn't even close to over and UT is going to get slammed in the coming days/weeks from just about every angle. Hubbs said a lot of people from the national media have been on campus digging for more dirt.

Not worried about it.

I posted this in the off topic thread, but I know some people don't go there, especially with it all political talk at the moment.

Anyone here have an interest in fantasy baseball? An ESPN league I'm in has 2 vacancies. It is a keeper league where you can keep up to 6 players on the current team. The league administrator only asks for active participants (setting lineups, etc.)

Yep. I say let it run its course. Let the media spew. If The University of Tennessee can handle the pressure, I as a fan can have thick skin too.

Seriously, what do I care what some "The Kardashians" loving, I live my life through reality tv asshat thinks.

On a side note: It may be a small trickle right now, but there are a few media outlets that are starting to back off of this, saying that people need to wait until all the facts and stories come out. Heard one (can't remember which) say yesterday that people need to slow their horses a little and wait. That 90% of everything that has been said has only come from one side of the story.

That's what I have been saying.Zero ramifications and no repercussions.I hope the university doesnt settle and counter sues the people involved in this for every last cent they have. It's a sad day when you are tried and guilty with nothing but hear say testimony.Makes me sick. The Candy money grubber lawyer and Anita can kiss my orange colored azz.

The accusers are being smart by getting the media to work for them, because they want to settle and not go to court. That much is obvious to most here. The glass half full look leads me to believe they have to do this because there is no wrong doing at Tennessee, at least not enough to warrant concern.

The media can report all the propaganda they want. It won't mean anything when the lawsuit fails.

Just for some perspective...
My wife, who is a news junkie, and married to a crazy UT fanatic, has never heard a single thing about these allegations. Not once.

We tend to think these matters are of penultimate concern and at the forefront of "the public's" daily interests. That is simply not true.

I agree with those who see this thing as rapidly slipping off the front page of the national media. It has already ebbed somewhat. Picture 3,4,5 months from now - who the heck knows what will be the big media story?! Probably not weak sauce allegations against UT.

Jmho

Eh. There's a point of diminished returns especially after all these allegations show to be unsubstantiated. It could also back fire and turn into a girls cry wolf situation.

See the BLM group. Everyone was outraged and now it seems most people are annoyed with it or shrug it off as nothing. The reason is due to facts coming out that several claims were unsubstantiated and some idiots that gave the movement a bad name

I would be interested in playing and would be active if you all still need a couple players.
