Or folks could exercise self control and have some respect for themselves.

This. I have a few drinks at the tailgate but I also enjoy being able to remember the game too. You can still enjoy the tailgate and the game without debasing yourself and ruining other people's experience too.

Excellent post. Rednecks gonna redneck though. Just the way it is.

Thanks

When you say stock alcohol, does that mean they bring it in the day before or when?

My experience with the owner of a business that had a sky box at Neyland was the liquor was brought in the day before at the owner's selection and expense. UT did not supply it. UT staff would occasionally help with simply carrying items to the box, but not always. It has been about 8 years since I was in the situation to know.

:hi: She's holding her own now. Taking advantage of our time now. I know our time is limited. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. It means a lot.

You are doing the right thing...spend as much time as you can. I thought I had more time... I didn't.

My prayers are with you and your family.

Thanks

Alcohol is stocked the day before the game by the box owner, or someone acting as the owner/entity's agent.

The University has nothing to do with the sale of alcohol that is consumed in the sky boxes.

All the soft drinks, tea, juice, etc are provided by the University.
The buffet, hot dog bar, ice cream, etc are also provided by the University.

Buckle up, folks. War Room hinted that the lawsuit mess isn't even close to over and UT is going to get slammed in the coming days/weeks from just about every angle. Hubbs said a lot of people from the national media have been on campus digging for more dirt.

Yeah...I stopped following Rucker about 3 days after I began in the first place. I enjoy listening to Hyams' segments on 104.5...and he's more often than not been proven right. While he's not my favorite, I usually listen to what he has to say.

For all the crap Hyams gets for being last to the dinner table with news, Rucker not only is typically one of, if not the, last with breaking news but he's been wrong more than his fair share of times.

Which is fine, if you're not also a miserable, arrogant douchenozzle. :)

I don't think Hyams was "in the know" with the dooley regime but I think he is pretty much as plugged in as anybody these days.

I still don't understand why everyone is in such a rush to bury UT? Statistically we are pretty much a blip on the radar as far as assaults and criminal activity compared to most universities. But national people want to crucify us because of an obvious money grab lawsuit.

I'm going to go ahead and guess Butch doesn't survive this in the end. My guess is that his brand is going to be irreparably damaged, regardless of what the truth is.

Interested to seeing how this post is received here

I can only imagine the responses if this was something I had posted

Begin rant:

I'm so sick of this ****ing bull****. Tennessee isn't even in the top 50% of on campus violent crime statistics. This is a complete screw job and I'm sick of the media being so eager to get a click that they don't do their ******n job. Your job isn't to ****ing bury this school, it's to report the truth. How about go do some actual reporting since this is a nationwide problem, not one that is localized to UT. So ****ing sick if this "we just want the truth to be out there" charade. It's a complete farce. You don't give a **** about the truth, you and every "journalist" sniffing around this campus are nothing but click whores. "Journalism" during this whole thing has been and likely will continue to be completely ****ing optional. So come on I guess...get your shares and clicks, whores.

End rant.

I have a hard time believing this. He has done every single thing the right way, except possibly...and I say possibly with a lot of skepticism...calling one player a traitor for turning on his team, when that player may actually have an agenda he was trying to push against someone he was jealous of. He will not only survive this, but will be better because of it.

Hubbs said he doesn't see Butch losing his job over this. The worst allegation against him is obviously the Bowles thing, but that can't really be proven.

That said, I could certainly see things elevating to a point (through more allegations and mudslinging) where Butch is either fired to appease the national media or pulls a Cuonzo and leaves of his own volition.

Neither one of those two scenarios will happen. Hart is not going to fire a guy that has brought this program out of the ashes and is about to reap the benefits, in order to appease the national media. That will seal his doom as well, if he did that. Butch is not going to leave on his own volition… I don't see him as the type that runs from things like this. That would go against every single thing he teaches about facing adversity head-on. We will be fine, folks. Just let this play out. I'm glad to hear TN will fight this thing the entire way...that means we feel very very good about our case.

Yeah, what you say in the second paragraph is how I see it playing out. Once you get this label and the national media gets involved, it seems like it would be hard to shake. Other programs will hang this over his head as well.

I've really appreciated Butch and as far as this case goes I take no sides - just want the truth and justice to be served whereever the facts lead. (I do find the guilty till proven innocent reporting of the media to be highly obnoxious and unAmerican, but that is what it is).

Butch has proven UT football can be rebuilt and you can still win here and compete with the best. That will help us where ever this leads.

I was very much in favor of UT fighting this, but the plaintiffs' lawyers are going to make sure it's as messy and damning to UT from a national media perspective as possible if they take it to court.

Hubbs also seemed to indicate that there's more dirt out there, and with the national media digging around on campus, it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

Hopefully any more reporting that comes out will be objective and unbiased like Peter King's recent article on the Manning controversy. Hyams's recent article does a nice job of putting things into perspective as well. Remove Wright's and Rogers's testimonies from this situation, and everything else really seems like grasping at straws. All players involved, at least the football players, were immediately suspended as soon as allegations were made known. What else were they supposed to do, take them out back of Neyland and throw rocks at them?
