Did you read the article? No attacking, just curious. I had a different opinion of the article.

I thought it was poignant yet true. If Pat were able to defend UT currently , No One would argue with her.

The writer went on to talk about Alzheimers and how awful it is. (My Mother died with Alzheimers. I think that at the end, she could not remember how to chew and swallow)

I didn't get "slam" out of that article, more that an awful disease has stolen one of Tennessee's greatest champions. More bitter irony than anything.

:hi:
Nah, he referred to the current "scandal" at least four times.

I think that's pretty slamming. Was it necessary to put this in the article if it truly was about how Pat could offer some wisdom if she wasn't effected by Alzheimer's?

As to my familiarity, my mother was diagnosed three years ago, with each passing day I see first hand.

:hi:

Spot on. The hack used it as an opportunity to get a shot in.

I remembered your mom had that insidious disease. My mother-in-law passed away from it like doc's. Will be in prayer for her, you and your family. Don't want to belabor doc's point about the forgetting how to do involuntary functions, but want to offer some unsolicited advice. Ease her out of this world as soon as you can through your medical decisions and working with the medical professionals. When she forgets how to swallow or even breathe - it has gone on too long. That's what happened with ours. Some in the family wanted to fight the removal of many medications that extended her life, which made the disease progress even farther over time. They regretted those decisions during the last days when they saw their mom in that horrible condition.

God bless.

Yeah that doesn't address his vitriol with Butch instead of his state rival.

Maybe it's because Butch turned them down and then they went after him.

Crazy I know but they got serious about making him the coach after Butch was reportedly "happy with his job" and received an extension and pay bump.

:hi: She's holding her own now. Taking advantage of our time now. I know our time is limited. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. It means a lot.

That's what I don't get. Why not take shots at your hated rival or a rival's former coach? Pointless...just like my input on the matter.

That's what I get for not reading closer

I don't think there are many places out there that don't sell beer in luxury boxes. I know tenn does

Tennessee does not sell alcohol in the Neyland Sky Boxes levels.

You are however allowed to "stock" your box prior to the game.

I should have clarified and you may be right

I have never been in the boxes for football but I have hoops.

It was my understanding those boxes are stocked and paid for thru the university for both food and alcohol.

Is that wrong?

Can't speak to the basketball boxes.

For Sky Boxes:

All the food is "free".
You are responsible for stocking your box with anything you intend to drink. Soft drinks provided out on the concourse.

When you say stock alcohol, does that mean they bring it in the day before or when?

Now they won't have to try to hide the booze in their jorts.

It's not like the drinkers aren't already drinking - it will just be a more open display. I feel sorry for the ushers and law enforcement as well as the parents that choose to bring younger children to the games.

It may start as premium seats. It won't stay that way.

There are those that get entirely sloshed before they even get into Neyland. Some lady threw up on my wife's back last year at the Georgia game. Her husband tried to play it off like they spilled some water. When my wife went to use the restroom another lady told her she had something on her back. It was puke. I have never seen my wife so mad and I've made her plenty mad before. Just imagine if that lady had thrown up on a kid. How traumatizing would that be for a young person? Alcohol in the stadium is a bad idea because their are too many folks that can't manage themselves.

But if there's alcohol in the stadium people wouldn't have to get drunk enough right before they walk in to stay drunk for the entire game. I know at West Virginia when they started selling alcohol in the stadium, alcohol related arrests/incidents went down. If a fan base known for burning couches every chance they get can handle it being sold I think just about any fan base can

Or folks could exercise self control and have some respect for themselves.
