2016 Election

Trump is just capitalizing on the fact we have become a sound-bite nation.

What a sad indictment on our society that we have sunk to this point. It makes me wonder who was more at fault, the media for sensationalizing and serving up the 'sound bites' or the people for lapping it up.

I heard Jack Johnson's, Where'd all the good people go? yesterday and it resonates with your perspective.

Can't watch your vid.

IMO it started when the networks turned the nightly news into profit centers. I think it was either Murrow or Cronkite who warned against this. Since then and the advent of cable news networks it's all about ratings and we all must agree a Trump campaign and Presidency would be good for ratings.

I see it has a positive that no one like him

That attitude and thinking is what I do not understand about those far right conservatives.

Not be argumentative but could you please explain how you could support a politician that cannot get along with his own party. He would never be able to get his policies through congress.

There has never been a good president nor will there ever be a good president that is not smart enough to work with those with different viewpoints than he has.

The only reason I can see anyone supporting Cruz are those that want a do nothing at all Washington. That does not make sense to me.

They weren't able to cure you of your Cruz derangement syndrome while you were in the hospital. It must be incurable.

Check his list of endorsements. Many very smart people are running as far away from the Canadian as possible. He is a walking disaster.

That party is loaded with only far left hacks and socialists. Neither JFK or even Bill Clinton would get the nomination in todays dem party.

You're using terms like 'far left hack' and 'socialist', one of which is completely subjective and the other is simply a meme that demonstrates how uneducated the user is to what that form of government really is. I know, perhaps you could cite examples of HRC's "far left" views and what's she's said or done to promote democratic "socialism." Ya know, since you brought it up? Proof is in the pudding as they say.

And before you get your cackles up, I'm not HRC fan -I think that HRC should be spending the next four years in jail.

As to the rest, your position is as arbitrary as my belief that that Reagan wouldn't get the nomination against Trump.

Rubio is the only viable conservative that could win the election. Trump & Cruz have a minuscule chance and Kasich likely has no chance at getting the nom.

New CNN Poll: Rubio 50, Clinton 47; Cruz 49, Clinton 48; Clinton 52, Trump 44

I don't disagree with you in that respect. I believe it's somewhat alarming the lack of support Cruz has from his colleagues and speaks to his abrasive personality.

That some of these people have thrown their weight behind Trump is questionable to me, the most recent example being Sessions from Alabama.

Carlos I hope you understand that these national polls are meaningless? I know you like to post them but they mean nothing unless done state by state.

I will take Trump - if it comes down to Cruz and Clinton - it will be 4 years of misery for the US but what the heck does it matter to me, I live in Illinois - the worst state in the US

I won't vote.

Just out of curiosity, is there any conservative here that could describe a member of the democratic party that they wouldn't also refer to as a "far left hack" or a "socialist?"

Frankly, I don't think many of you could accurately define what a socialist is without looking it up. I get it, it's a fun meme to play with, toss around but if you genuinely understood it did - you'd likely not be using that term.
Bredesen, Webb, Shuler, Nunn, Zell Miller.....wait none are still in office.

This I agree with. The Sessions endorsement was a shocker and a slap in Cruz's face as Cruz has mentioned Sessions several times during this campaign as someone he has worked with.
This is by far the craziest election I have ever witnessed.
I firmly believe Kasich is the only "Presidential " candidate on either side.

As of right now Hillary has 276 electoral votes. She wins Virgina, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Iowa.

Trump could win Ohio and Florida and still lose.

And he's marginal. Nobody worth a damn wants the job anymore.
