2016 Election

Nah, I am actually voting against the Canadian. I will be glad when today is over with. I will not have to look at his arrogant face every few minutes on Knoxville TV. Cruz and Rubio both have spent a ton on Knoxville media, Cruz more.

I thought you were on the Rubio bandwagon? I have not read all the postings made in last couple of weeks,I aM behind on VN current events. :)

I'm still full on Rubio. Even went as far as to toss a Trump sign out of my yard last night. (they have been popping up like crazy out here and it was right next to the city property, so I was helpful in placing it in the right spot, albeit face down where it likely got blown away during the storm last night)

I think Rubio has the best message, represents my positions best and the best chance of beating the Hildabeast. But a couple of pages back if it comes down to Hillary or Trump, I'm voting 3rd party.

Rubio is the only viable conservative that could win the election. Trump & Cruz have a minuscule chance and Kasich likely has no chance at getting the nom.

ABC was reporting this morning Rubio has a small lead in MN. I look for him to drop out after today if his internal polling in Florida reflects these polls showing he is losing big there.
He could be a viable candidate in 2020. I don't think he wants to be humiliated in his home state.

Trump, Cruz and Rubio have been acting like high school girls whining and spreading rumors about each other this last week. All three are really pathetic imo. With candidates like these the GOP deserves to lose in November, sad thing is same thing can be said about the Dems.

yeah I agree the candidates are really pitiful this year.

Actually, the more pertinent question along these lines would be...

How is Trump planning on identifying and rounding up said 11 million+ illegals without turning this place into a complete police state?

And furthermore, how does he plan to hold them until their deportation hearings? And finally, who gets to foot the bill on said detainment facilities as well as custody and care costs, travel to the border, additional judges, additional enforcement officers, etc?

"Papers please."

I was speaking more so of his made up racial statistics he was tweeting.

Actually, I'd believe the opposite. If Rubio comes in strong second in States others than Texas, I'd expect him to stay in and for Cruz to reconsider. We had a discussion about it last night and how the numbers are working against everyone but Trump at the moment and Rubio is on the rise in nearly every poll.

If it came down to a Rubio vs. Hillary contest, are you going to take Granny's advice?

I understand, but those are relevant questions to be asked.

Of course the mouth breathers would reply "Mexico will pay!" in unison if challenged with those questions.

Voted on the way home from work this morning. At least a 100 people lined up waiting for it to open.

Kind of fun voting on Election Day, I've always voted early in the past.

This is the most screwed up election I've ever seen. The Dems are embarrassing (if Hillary moves any further left she'll be in Guam), and the GOP is even worse. At one point I've felt "okay" about supporting Trump, Rubio or Cruz, but now I'm not even sure I'll vote today (not that it'll matter as it appears Trump has a fairly large lead in GA). I agree with most that Kasich is the most genuine of the GOP group but he just can't muster any excitement, and that would concern me if he were to run against Hillary.

I will definitely vote in the general though as I've said repeatedly that Hillary is the absolute worst person to step foot in the White House. People joke about Cruz not being liked by other Senators, but yet he will likely carry his own state while it appears Rubio will take a big hit in FL. But nobody (and I mean nobody) likes Hillary... not the staff that worked in the White House... not the secret service who protected her and Bill... nobody.

You don't think voting for a guy who tweets made up racial statistics is a bit of an overreaction to your distain for political correctness?
maybe. But PC is killing this country and further widening any gap that the libtards say they want to bridge. I am no fan of Trump. Hillary will be a ****ing disaster. She will soil the office even worse than the current idiot.. if that is possible. As a former military man, I have zero respect for her. Zero.

Not sure why you describe HRC as not being able to be further left. have you seen her competition? Hillary looks absolutely moderate next to Sanders.

I also think your belief that nobody likes her is wildly inaccurate. Maybe nobody in your circles likes her but she is still beating Trump in head to heads nationally.

Hillary is a far left hack, she could not get the dem nomination without being far far left. The general will likely be a socialist vs a democrat

Pretty shocked that you're voting for Trump Gramps. Even if Kasich is polling <10 it's better voting for him than a flaming moron. haha

I'm surprised also but just from listening I've noticed more of the older crowd becoming Trumpeters. Heck even my in-laws who have NEVER voted for a Republican will be voting for Trump today.

Not going to happen.

"Papers please."

Trump is just capitalizing on the fact we have become a sound-bite nation.

I posted this in the protect and serve thread but thought it fits in here as well concerning the election, the "spin" the media seeks and distributes concerning their own agenda's, and the simple freak show it has become.

How many people heard about it? Isn't this the first school shooting not covered as if it was the equal to God Himself coming through the clouds in terms of non stop coverage?

We had a school shooting just north of Cincinnati yesterday, 4 injured no deaths thankfully. I want to say that the police were the reason it didn't involve more shootings or deaths. On site cop was there in seconds and made the pos boy run out of the cafeteria.

Also, the shooting barely made the national news. What an indictment on the "national media" as well. I will never watch 1 second of any national "news" programming again.

What, no deaths to sensationalize? Not enough blood to make it a non stop on scene coverage as they have done with every school shooting to this point? Because it was in the midwest not a big enough story? What an absolute joke and disgrace.

I don't want to see another shooting covered as if it was the most important story ever and don't want to hear the war cry BS narratives for gun control either from any politicians or news outlet again. This has been the least publicized school shooting ever due to the "important" election coverage. Pick and choose those headlines you farking lame arse reporters.......

But, a big thank you and bigger high five to the Hamilton Sheriffs office and all it's officers and it's work with the school district and community to have a plan in place and react as well as they did.

She started out as somewhat of a moderate but has continually had to move her views further left to compete against Bernie in the primaries. Once she gets the Dem nod there's very little doubt in my mind that she will shift more to the center during the general election.

My reference to nobody liking her was the same as has been used with Cruz... those who have worked with her. There are MANY who fear her (just do a little research), but very few... if any... who actually like her.

Just out of curiosity, is there any conservative here that could describe a member of the democratic party that they wouldn't also refer to as a "far left hack" or a "socialist?"

Frankly, I don't think many of you could accurately define what a socialist is without looking it up. I get it, it's a fun meme to play with, toss around but if you genuinely understood it did - you'd likely not be using that term.

I can't disagree with any of that.

I don't think people joke about Cruz not being liked by other senators. That is a fact. He has exactly ZERO sitting senators endorsing him. Think about that. The people he works with (or against in his case) everyday the Senate is in session despises him.
He has the current governor of TX (Abbott)and the previous 9 Perry) plus the governor of Guam. That is it period
He has a host of the far right wing US Representatives endorses him.

When such a large number of a persons colleagues despises him/her, that person have some major issues.

On the other had Hillary is despised by the right but is loved by the left.

Do a Google of Endorsements for ted Cruz 2016 and Endorsements for Hillary Clinton 2016.

That party is loaded with only far left hacks and socialists. Neither JFK or even Bill Clinton would get the nomination in todays dem party.

They weren't able to cure you of your Cruz derangement syndrome while you were in the hospital. It must be incurable.

Jim Webb would fall into that category but he was run off quickly.
