CBJ allegedly tells Drae Bowles he 'betrayed the team'

Just saw On Twitter where UTreleased statement.

“The University has reviewed the amended complaint filed today by the plaintiffs and we continue to stand by our actions. The facts, as opposed to allegations in a complaint, will demonstrate that the university acted properly in the matters at issue. We have continuously worked hard to improve our processes and procedures to ensure that we are doing all that we can to prevent incidents of assault, to support victims of assault, and to pursue justice while enforcing due process for those accused.”

Here's something. Do you think Sutton, Kamara, and JRM would have come back had they know this could blow up? I'm thinking not. They would have known if there really was a beatdown of Bowles or any of the other allegations could have been remotely true. I'm calling this an extremely successful smear campaign and nothing more. If UT had no wrong doing I hope they don't settle then counter.

I wonder if that was the reason Maggitt didn't pursue that 6th year. It probably didn't but just makes you wonder.

Right but he has now contradicted himself on the same alleged incident in 2 different courts. I think his testimony should be removed from both courts and he should be charged. If AJ and Williams are guilty that could have been important information for the DAs case, don't you agree?

Well, if they are found guilty despite his testimony I don't see what difference it makes...I also don't see how Maggitt beating up Bowles, if true, has anything to do with what happened the night(s) before.

I saw this .....

Absolutely not. There's no context whatsoever. They made it read like a rape definitely happened, that Bowles came to her aid like a knight in shining armor, and Butch called him a traitor for doing so. There's zero chance that it happened that way IMO. Context and actual events of what happened are what's needed here.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. These are not Bowles' exact words. A lawyer wrote their own spin into this to make it more damning. Same thing that happened when Nutright's affidavits changed from 1996 to 2003.

He was most certainly suspended from school all the way up to the day of the first practice.

Negative. He finished the semester/scholarship year and then was indefinitely suspended. Exact same thing happened to Williams and AJ except AJ graduated. So they didn't immediately suspend any of them and they were all treated alike.

Why strip a young man of his education before you have actual proof of his guilt? IF UT suspended Pearson from school over fear, then his case was the one mishandled, imo. Why is their this assumption that these young men's lives should be put on hold because of an allegation? How is that fair? You're giving young women the power to ruin a young man's life by simply saying he did something. That's ridiculous. Would the same thing happen if it was a young man accusing a young woman? Of course not. When guilt is proven, fine, take action and kick the guilty out of school. As it is, it should be enough that an accusation alone can derail a young man's sports career. Don't take his education as well.

Okay, Pearson's was mishandled. The point is, what are the reasons for the mishandling of these cases?

As I've said over and over, until today, this is about the University administration handles these investigations/incidents/cases and unless there is proof that the AD has interfered then the sport's programs would be fine.

No.

Not talking about that, in Bowles statement to the grand jury he stated he had no knowledge of a rape taking place at the party until the following day. But in this new affidavit all of the sudden hes playing hero and going with her to the hospital so on and so forth. Now if he truly found her in that state outside of the party wouldn't that be a huge help to the DA in proving the alleged victim was in distress?

And 66 I just wanted to thank you for having a healthy conversation about this without anyone getting mad or arguing over difference of opinion.

It would depend on what he has to say about why he told a different story at the time...Bowles is not a party to this suit, just a witness.

Why he told a different story doesn't matter. His is no longer a credible witness. There would be absolutely no reason for him to lie about the 911 call and the timing of when she told him about the alleged assault. It's not like missing details have been added. Parts of the story completely contradict each other.
