I know there was some discussion yesterday. But, is there any chance that yesterday was laying the groundwork to bring Mike Keith on board? I just don't see how you have one of the biggest days of the year for your premier sport, and the "voice of the Vols" isn't a part of it at all.

I'm sure they can claim that it was just too much for Kesling after just having called the BB game on Tuesday night, but I think that's hogwash...the game was in town.

Thoughts?

I would LOVE for that to happen but I think it was more of UT making a spectacle out of signing day. Mike Keith, Al Wilson and Erik Ainge in the studio made it feel like an ESPN type production. Kesling and another Vol Network guy would have given it a "Vol Calls" feel.

They do a really nice job with that production. I think I'm taking off work next year. Their coverage is just too good.

Next year they should have reigning Super Bowl MVP Peyton Manning break down the film.

According to FPI, here are the top five college football teams for 2016:

#1- LSU
#2 - Florida St
#3 - Oklahoma
#4 - Clemson
#5 - Tennessee

See you in ATL LSU. Perfect year would be dismantling Florida in humiliating fashion then beating Bama. Winning SEC, OU payback in playoff, then taking Dabo and Clemson down a notch with Hunter's tears on TV being screenshotted by Volssam and becoming meme of the week next January.

OU won't be back in the playoff. They're going to start trending down over the next few years IMO

B-
Hit needs at every position but DT. Wasn't a must but when you target small pool, have to land at least one.Even if it's just a filler.

Really good DB and DL hual for Vols. Especially DBs. Warrior and Bryd will be AA before they leave. Elite. Like the juco DL alot. Should see immediate production.

Coach Mac recruiting almost Dooley-esque......

ESPN insider article, about adding pieces for immediate help for championship chances next year.

Five teams that improved their 2016 playoff chances on signing day - On The Trail- ESPN

Anybody an insider that can let us know what it says.
Vols were the photo on the article, so I figured they said a few nice things about us

Osbourne and Byrd huge pieces that should see the field early. Kongbo and Ryan Johnson provide good depth in trenches. Expect UT to be front runner to win East at a minimum.

Cue the "Lol UT is overrated every year" from clueless CFB fans who don't realize we met expectations in 2015 and haven't been relevant or picked to do anything in the preseason since 2005

Yeah I hear how Tenn will finish 8-4 constantly. How we suck and haven't done anythings since the early 2000s. Just makes me think they don't actually a. watch football b. know anything.

Well, UT HAS sucked and hasn't done anything since the early 2000s. But as soon as Tennessee looks to be on the rise, the narrative changes to "UT is overrated every year."

It's one of the worst parts of reddit CFB. The UT hate on there is strong. Place is filled to the brim with bandwagon Alabama fans.

I'm ready for the handful of fans that will try to lower expectations.

You seem to have taken to this whole RF thing quite well.

:hi:

I think we should expect to win 10+

<10 = disappointment to me. We get aTm in the worst possible situation and a lame VT team with a new HC instead of OU. That right there = 2 more wins, if everything else goes the same.

I'm sort of surprised we signed several of the receivers that we did given that there are a lot of elite athletes in state and around that we have a great chance with next year. I know Gray projects at LB but still, next year is a year for playmakers.

And we won't let Florida back in the game this time. That's another one.

I wish one of the local stations would pick it up. That would be awesome.

We need bodies there, the way we churn through that position. Have we had a single WR the last 3 years who made it through the season uninjured?

Excellent excellent point.

The production was top notch. I could have watched it all day. Love love love Mike Keith. Enthusiastic, personable, dynamite interview, he's the consummate pro. And good points on making it seem more "national" than down home win Kesling.

Indeed.

That said, Michigan's interim AD said that he believed Gary was offered incentives during his recruitment so he may be basing the Michigan part of his statement on that. As to Kongbo, that seems a really big accusation even for Basillio. All I can say is that if Freeze really did try to buy off Kongbo and Gary while the NCAA spotlight is firmly on OM, he's as stupid as he is arrogant.

Jim Hackett: 'Rashan Gary offered incentives during recruitment'

Ole Miss has bought recruits for a few years now, just a matter of time till they get caught.
