One thing that hasn't been mentioned a lot is how solid our commits were down the stretch. Other than Kongbo and Christmas-Giles, we had no decommitments during the final months, other than recruits like Marshall and Hart who were encouraged to look around. We signed guys who wanted to be Vols and are unlikely to transfer. A few are projects that we might have taken too early, but they'll RS and continue to develop.

Williams is undervalued. If that 2* had been higher, we could have passed UF in the rankings.

That raises an interesting question. With Hart and Marshall committed, we likely would have missed out on one of Calloway, Byrd, or Williams because of space. Would you trade any of those 3 for one of Hart or Marshall?

Even though he fell in the rankings, I'm still bummed we didn't sign Brodarius Hamm. Easily my favorite name of a recruit in the history of ever. I was ready to buy his jersey.

No. In fact, I'm surprised we didn't encourage a few others to look around and push harder for a backup DT. With C-G gone and Brown far from a lock, we could've pursued Daniels, Clark and others earlier and our chances of landing them would have been greater.

I am as well. Not that I'm down on any other signees, but the need was greater at DT.

Michigan's interim AD said yesterday that Gary had been offered "incentives" during his recruitment.

Basilio said Michigan was gonna turn OM in during his radio show today.

That is all I have seen

Yea I knew the jest of it. I was trying to get a link to the actual tweet/story.

According to FPI, here are the top five college football teams for 2016:

#1- LSU
#2 - Florida St
#3 - Oklahoma

I know there was some discussion yesterday. But, is there any chance that yesterday was laying the groundwork to bring Mike Keith on board? I just don't see how you have one of the biggest days of the year for your premier sport, and the "voice of the Vols" isn't a part of it at all.

I'm sure they can claim that it was just too much for Kesling after just having called the BB game on Tuesday night, but I think that's hogwash...the game was in town.

Thoughts?

Yep. We got a good group of guys, but getting another DT that could rotate in next year would have been great. Bet the coaches think so, too, which is why they were pushing hard for Daniels there at the end.

Wonder what kinda cheese he makes in the NFL?

I figured if this OM bagman narrative had legs that eventually a recruit that spurned them would tattle. Hard to believe this would be the first. I guess the potential payoff (intended) is worth the risk?

And man I hope so. He was so good yesterday. He's just a pro.

The only plausible response from ole miss fans: TB is full of crap.

Indeed.

That said, Michigan's interim AD said that he believed Gary was offered incentives during his recruitment so he may be basing the Michigan part of his statement on that. As to Kongbo, that seems a really big accusation even for Basillio. All I can say is that if Freeze really did try to buy off Kongbo and Gary while the NCAA spotlight is firmly on OM, he's as stupid as he is arrogant.

Michigan people think Clemson are the culprit
