The "Will It Be Watched Without Trump" GOP Debate

BTW, the GOP cheerleaders that are not conservative and want Rand Paul to bow out don't understand that he's running for 2020 and 2024 as much as he is running for 2016.

He's young and at some point the party might decide it's actually conservative.

After trump doubles or triples the national debt like every other president before him, perhaps we will be ready for Paul then.

You know I'm a huge Paul guy, but Bush absolutely killed it on a couple questions last night. He's polling second in NH atp I believe.

If you only watched that much of the debate, then you don't need to have an opinion on it. But much like everything else, you'll spew out some nonsense regardless.

That's mighty nice of you to tell me I can't have an opinion on it. Judging from what I saw on TV and Twitter, the media elitist are falling over themselves for Jeb! The Puerto Rico question was a total softball

Also Rubio talking about God was totally awkward

The problem there is the country will be too mad at Republicans to elect Rand so they'll elect a new young Dem. Then the Rs will scramble again for a win-at-all-cost candidate that will ruin the party.

That's because Jeb looked presidential. He looked pragmatic. He seemed genuine, and not artificial. He seemed merciful (legalization), but authoritative and firm (his plan to battle ISIS came BEFORE the Paris attacks). He killed it last night, and while I have always supported him because I believe he is qualified and not just a family name, he needed last night because Trump was not there to belittle or change the conversation. That's the real difference between Jeb and Trump: Jeb actually understands policy issues and how the world works, while Trump only plays to the emotions of the uninformed voter.

This is what will play out, imo. Trump will win Iowa and NH. But Bush and Rubio will make their stand in SC. If Trump rolls in SC, it's hard for me to see him not winning the nomination.

Ok so:

1 is Trump
2 is Crux
3 is Sanders
4 is Clinton
5 is Carson
6 is the under card

Where do you put Rubio or Christie then?

Rubio is as ready for the White House as Obama, BC, Bush, Bush SR, Reagan, Carter, Nixon, or JFK was.

Can you please tell me what was on any of the above Presidents resume that is better than Rubio's?

I mean community organizer, cocaine head, B rate movie star, son of a boot legger are all awesome and everything....but...

No, no, no. The people in 1 through 5 are all listed in order by name in 1 through 5.
Your first 3 are correct. 4 is Carson, 5 is Paul. Clinton, Bush, Rubio, Christie, etc are all included in 6.

Rubio was definitely pandering to the evangelicals and trying to take some votes away from Cruz.

Jeb! Looked presidential. Lol. I saw him pandering to that YouTube star who is a Bernie fan. Dude was cringeworthy "The YouTube". Who says that?

Skins is probably hurting Trump among VN voters.

We need to make Skins someone important in his campaign. Give him a national voice.

Hmmm...I didn't watch but WaPo declared Paul the winner.

I could agree with that to an extent, but I'd actually tie him and Jeb. (weird huh?)

I can't declare a clear cut victor because Jeb and Rand never locked horns. Both gave as good as they got.

They don't need me. 14 callers in a row on CSPAN last night. Most Dems, all voting for Trump.

My assessment:

No big standouts/no flubs. Everyone did a credible job.

Jeb had the biggest swing up.

Thought Cruz blew it at the beginning (after being given an absolute gift with the first question about Trump not being there) when he got whiny about the questions and interrupted a few times.

Otherwise I don't think anyone did materially better or worse than past performances.
