The "Will It Be Watched Without Trump" GOP Debate

Trump lost nothing by not attending another of these idiot debates. In fact, he put Cruz in the hot seat for a while and he did not fare well. I thought Rubio gained the most ground, Cruz to a step back and Bush only made himself look weaker attacking Trump in his absence, Christie held his place wherever that is.

Initially, I thought Trump was a joke, but at this point I think he's actually what the country needs. He's not bowing down to the elite that run this country and that's a huge breath of fresh air. I fully believe he would surround himself with the right people.

He's not bowing down because he is the elite that run this country.

I'm not huge on Trump 'trumpeting' money for veterans, the nation in general is leaning away from military appreciation to military worship. It's a bad long term recipe.

Around the 15-16 minute mark Cruz is asked about his voting record on military budgets and how it doesn't add up to his current rhetoric. He completely ignores the question and starts talking about how he's going to carpet bomb ISIS.

It was amazing. No wonder people hate him.

Not a Cruz fan, but is that SOP for politics?

I've never understood the "veterans aren't appreciated" rhetoric. Plenty of businesses seek to hire veterans. The rhetoric from people like Palin that Obama makes veterans feel unappreciated and that he does nothing for them. I think the returning heroes tax credit was one of the best things Obama has done.

All of them when asked a direct question tend to first take a second to discuss their own agendas, but I didn't notice anyone else never even address the question asked.

But I do still have another 30 minutes to watch

I don't see the military worship, I see vets and veteran appreciation being used in self serving ways.

Trump is part of the elite.

While that is true, it doesn't mean he shares the same views, and at this point I'd say it's pretty clear he doesn't. Also, not all of the elite are businessmen like Trump. Many are so far behind the scenes that we've never heard of them. There are elites calling the shots that are of lineage dating back to colonial times.

I got to visit NBC studios a long time ago and take a tour. When my group got to where SNL is filmed, we asked how hard it was to get tickets. We were told by the guides that most of the audience members are from very powerful families, and to give and example of just how powerful they are, they informed us that the Bush twins tried to get tickets and were not able to get good seats. It wasn't due to them being Bush's daughters, but because there are more powerful people with more pull. That was a very insightful moment for me and goes along with Bush admitting that there is a shadow government after the 9/11 attacks.

Maybe, but he did raise $6 million for them. I bet he's done more vets over the years than any other person running regardless of what reason he's doing it for.

Its normally gray and very vague leading up to agenda that has little or nothing to do with the question.

Then on occasion you get a straight answer and or stance that never pans out down the road.

Killing it.

Fox went to break after this clip. I'm surprised they allowed this to be the last thought. Maybe the times really are a-changing.

Hmmm...I didn't watch but WaPo declared Paul the winner.

You know I'm a huge Paul guy, but Bush absolutely killed it on a couple questions last night. He's polling second in NH atp I believe.

Call me crazy but I bet that was the plan. I saw him answer one question and it was on Puerto Rico, a softball question

If you only watched that much of the debate, then you don't need to have an opinion on it. But much like everything else, you'll spew out some nonsense regardless.
