Brady was anything but elite the last few games. Struggled against jets/Dolphins to end year.

No one can look good throwing from their back. Brady got hit 24 times +-? In the AFC championship game and that is coming from statistically the fastest offense in terms of getting the ball out quickly. Not making Brady excuses but are times when QBs no matter who it is don't have a chance to succeed.

Once an addict always an addict. It's a disease. It is an never ending fight for those that have it. They need a strong support system of sober people. That is why it is imperative that they not go back to the same crew they always hang with. If they hang out with same friends then recovery becomes pointless. I have never had to deal with it so I always thought it was easy to start and stop things until i had close family member go through it.

Sometimes the support system doesn't matter. They have to want to change. My sister's normal cycle was use, try to commit suicide, go to rehab, relapse. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Holly is the Larry Coker of women's basketball. Inherited a great roster, achieved early success, but has no idea how to build the program in her own way. The cracks in the foundation started appearing last season and now the team is in danger of completely crumbling.

This. The downturn started before Holly took over as far as performance on the court, which was somewhat the system CPS chose to run not matching up with the players she was recruiting. But the talented roster was there to do well. The wheels have fallen off the bus this season. Holly is totally lost and it is painfully obvious.

I don't buy that holly is "lost" I think that is a ridiculous term that gets thrown around about coaches. She obviously has a high a basketball IQ just like 99% of coaches have a high sports IQ even Dooley lol. But at some point it's got to go on the players. I was a GA for baseball in 2010 at coastal Carolina and our HC used to always say "at the end of the day were not throwing the ball, fielding it, or hitting it." Holly may not be motivating or pushing the right buttons but the players have to have accountability especially when they are losing to less talented teams.

I have seen it both ways - including yours. I had a close friend that said and obviously knew better, who slowly killed himself by the on-going cycle. He was depressed beyond words and no amount of rehab changed it. We've had family and friends that did turn it around that appeared to be early candidates for the grave. If you are still breathing, there's still a chance. But ultimately it comes down to humbling yourself and committing to changing with every fiber of your being, preferably with the Lord leading you.

If the players aren't performing and the coach fails to correct the problem, then the coach IS the problem. Same way with every other business on earth.

"No link, but my friend who works in compliance at MS State said every SEC school received an email yesterday saying Ole Miss received a notice of allegations from NCAA. Bowl ban, loss of scholarships, and their players can transfer without sitting out a year

They said OM has to release it in the next few weeks. It will probably be the Friday after signing day"

Text I got from a friend who is a huge Ms State fan. He's been hinting about this happening for months. I'm a little skeptical because I feel like State is always clinging to anything they can find that might get Ole Miss in trouble. But it could be true and could explain some of their abnormal recruiting success the last few years. Anybody at UT hear anything about this?

I don't think A letter of allegations comes with penalties. That comes much later

Would have leaked by now if every SEC school received this letter IMO.

She's just not made out to be a HC imo.

Not what you originally said. You're one of those people who can't say "Ah, well I was slightly mistaken" aren't you?

I say that all the time, in fact said those exact words on here yesterday. I originally said they're not a top 5 defense. I didn't qualify it either way Mr Hostile.

Sounds like MS St trying to screw up Ole miss class. That doesn't sound like something true at all. Why would all the schools receive it?

I don't think people really understand how pervasive drug abuse is in the US. Lots of athletes start with prescribed medications and get addicted and end up moving to other drugs because of cost and availability. Opioid dependancy is growing especially for athletes who might end up being addicted after an injury or surgery from perscribed drugs like Vicodin, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, etc... and they end up moving on to heroin because of cost and availability. This is not limited to just the inner cities and even rural and so called rich suburbs are afflicted with this problem. 60 minutes (which I usually hate) just did a very good story last weekend on the rise of heroin use among teenagers athletes who get addicted from oral medications from such simple things as having their wisdom teeth pulled.

Not sure this is related to Mauk but I would assume at some point in his career he has at to take oral medications and Opioids more specifically.

I haven't been hostile at all. Take a midol, man.

You are right in saying the last 2 games have shown Arizona is not a top 5 defense. And I agree with you 100000% that Denver's defense is in a different level than Arizona's.

But you made an exaggeration, plain and simple. Yards per game, even after the two blowout losses, Arizona would still rank #8. Football Outsiders, which is advanced metrics, had Arizona as the #3 defense going into the playoffs. Two bad showings won't move them to 15.

But you are spot on in saying you can't compare Arizona's D to Denver's. The guy who tried to is wrong wrong wrong.

1. I didn't make an exaggeration, I quoted a source NFL Football - Defensive Rankings & Statistics - January, 2016 | Odds Shark

2. If you can't see that "you're one of those people who (insert negative quality here)" is hostile, then I guess our definitions are different.

That said, you're a good poster, so I'll assume I was being too sensitive and/or you were having a bad moment.

Lots of good players don't make good HCs. Holly isn't the first of those we've had and she probably won't be the last. But it's the HC's responsibility to motivate, develop and get the best from the players. When the talent's in place and the team consistently underperforms while the losses mount, something needs to change. It isn't an occasional bad night or an inexplicable loss here and there, it's a trend.

Fair enough. You are also a good poster, so I will MIB this thing and forget it happened.

In regards to Mauk, its being said that video is 2 years old and he is clean now.

I'm sure they're saying that. Reminds of the manziel video. Who knows where the truth is, but hard to imagine a 2 year old video just now coming out.
