He most likely won't, hence my question. Great coaches recruit, motivate, scheme, and teach at a high level. Good coaches usually are good at 3 of the four. Holly is good at zero. Her recruiting is suffering, she can't scheme her way out of a wet paper bag, she obviously can't motivate, and she's not proven she can teach the game. Everyone knows where this is headed. They are getting ready to fall out of the polls for the first time in this century (or close to it I think). It's a failed experiment.
Again, imo, it's only a matter of time, so how far do you let it go before you do something? The problem here is the further you let it slip the harder it is to climb out. Men's basketball can turn around quicker and fans will jump back on quicker than women's basketball IMO. If she missed the tournament this year and then next year, it will be a 10 year rebuild and could likely never recover.
The bolded is a HUGE overreaction. It's women's basketball. While the parity in women's hoops has gotten a lot better over the years there's not that many programs that take it seriously and UT takes it more serious than anyone not named UCONN. You could completely nuke that program, hire the right coach and win a national championship in under 10 years.
He's not gonna fire her this year. She went 30-6 last year and went to the elite 8. They could still make a good run in the tournament this year for sure.
The meltdown by the lady vol fans is silly.
