I assumed he was talking about from a fan's perspective. I love my Vols, but will never pray to God for a Vol's victory. I'll pray for good health for the players though.

I agree. We always prayed before sporting events when I played. It was,never for victory, but for safety and sportsmanship.

Have always been scared to pray selfishly.

You can have breakfast for lunch and it still be a lunch if you prefer. Just one of those things I guess...


But I do enjoy the midday snack of lunch or breakfast. Sigh.

It could very well be (and more than likely was) that the young 17-18 year old man was asking for a sign in relationship to him making a decision that will be taking him away from home and have some kind of ramification on the rest of his life.

I'm not a very religious person anymore (my own personal reasons) but the idea of asking for help and a sign (whether from God or a counselor or or a friend) seems like a logical thing for a young man to do with a decision that will affect the rest of his life. He's leaving home....big decision.
