Battle at Bristol Attendence

Think realistically??? I think you must have forgotten the blue font. Realistically, I think the picture looks sweet. The game is going to make history. Isn't there already like 150,000 tickets sold? Obviously Bristol and both universities think this is a great idea. Your only complaint is that it will be tough to see. Well, guess what, realistically that happens when you are sitting with 160,000 people around you. That's part of what makes it exciting.

Well at least you finally got one part right, even though the concept of it flew over head and likely bowled you over. The idea is awesome. Watching from there won't really be that exciting. Quit over reacting and understand my words.

Lookie what's on Google Maps!

By using a scale, I estimate the track (upper deck to upper deck) is ~530 yards, so the view from one end to the opposite end zone would be: 530/2+50=315 yards. By comparison, Neyland is ~270 yards, so the same figure would be 270/2+50=185. So the furthest seats in the house will be about 130 yards further from the field!

True story. Went to truck race at Bristol in 2006. Sat at top of bleachers (just below where the red seats are in the pictures).

So I'm looking around the infield without binoculars during the race and I swear I see Eric Clapton just walking around. Everyone thinks I'm nuts. I keep my eyes on him and convince myself it's Clapton tho it makes zero sense.

Get home that night and see on Sportscenter that Clapton was at Bristol race that night.

My point is this: if Clapton is in the infield at battle of Bristol, I'll see him from my bleacher seat without binoculars.

Really I think it won't be as terrible a view as some think.

Bill, a vet like you should know that Comprehensive thinking runs thin on this board haha

Won't that block the view of the fans sitting on the lower levels?

The track and infield is lower than the lowest row of stands, remember BMS has the steepest bank of any track in the turns, and the straightaways are banked some too.

I went over to check the hype this was getting on the VT forums and cant find a single thread or word about it which seems strange to me.

This is like the 613th iteration of the same pic and while the idea of the game at BMS is cool, the picture shows just how awkward the game will be for fans and probably players alike because they've never seen fans so far away.

There are many others working and planing around your reservations to make it a good one. No?

Go VOLS.

Again, reading and comprehension are your friends. Stalking other posts of mine to make posts that actually don't work is just creepy though.

I'm convinced that some of the members of VolNation kick puppies for s**ts n giggles.

GBO!

Actually the way it would work is this. They'd see bammers kicking puppies and they'd say "there's no way UT could kick puppies that good. Man, if we had a good puppy kicking coach maybe we could kick puppies like that too".

What were you expecting to see - "Will I be able to see Tennessee boat race us from the bleachers at Bristol"?

I wouldn't be looking forward to be humiliated in front of so many people myself.

I wouldn't know. I've never been there, but redneck racing is not my thing.

Interest in Tennessee football is higher than it has been in a decade, we are poised for a true breakout season, numerous media outlets are already projecting us as a top-10 team going into 2016, and Butch Jones has been hyping this game from the day it was announced. Given the prolonged drought this program has emerged from, the timing for this event could not be better. Attendance should be well above 150,000.

The interest/hype level is the highest since 2001.

didn't see anything in last several pages but I talked to rep at UT today. Invoices for tickets that deposits were put down on at Tennessee will be sent out on 2/1. Payment due by 3/1.

Just an FYI if any of you did that.

Is there anywhere to buy tix still?

Yeah, hoping Stubhub will start selling them. Any brokers in Knox selling them?

I'm sure there are a few, although I'm not sure if exact seats and sections have been found out yet by people who got them. I live about 10 minutes from VT and less than 100 miles from Bristol and I'm totally going. So I'm looking for seats as well.
