Battle at Bristol Attendence

I'm spending my money and driving down for the experience and an excuse to take a mini vacation. I upgraded to the $50 seats, but no more. I do fear that paying $160 for a seat only to be disappointed by the view could be a distinct reality. So i went cheap...and will have more money to buy stuff with.

I'm just excited to get up there on Wednesday and make pretty much a week out of it. The perfect way to celebrate life, college football, and being a Volunteer in my opinion!

Can't believe how small the field will look. It doesn't even look real.

I'm a STH and missed the deadline and am wanting to scalp day of. What do you guys think street prices will look like? I refuse to pay what people are asking and offering to pay right now, granted it's still a ways out.

I live in Bristol and own a campground right across the street from the Speedway. They are able to sit 165000 in the stands but are also looking at the possability of adding temporary seating on the front and back straitaways and will be putting temporary seating in the endzones. They are calling these seats the battlefield and they are $400 a pop. The addition of those will take it to around 190,000. Should know in a couple of weeks if they have enough interest to do this so as of now they have sold around 150,000.

What's the name of your campground? We may have talked on the phone.

I highly doubt the prices for this game will be "outrageous". If your prediction is correct, the scalpers that have tickets at gametime will be throwing them at you for next to nothing. I have been attending UT games since 1978, and there has only been one game that I was unable to get scalped tickets for and that was the FU game in 1997. There were no scalpers at all to be seen, and if you COULD find tickets they were ridiculously high. I watched the game on the Strip.

We didn't play Florida at home in 1997. 1998 yes, and it was expensive.

volnation will b1tch about anything...

If you decide to give up your tix, please lmk cause I have multiple people here in JC still trying to get tix.

BTW...I know people who work at BMS and if you think this isn't going to be a packed house, you are delusional.

To anyone complaining about things for the Battle at Bristol, are you actually going to be there? Why make such a fuss about the unknown! Like someone mentioned, this will be Epic!!!!!

This is like the 613th iteration of the same pic and while the idea of the game at BMS is cool, the picture shows just how awkward the game will be for fans and probably players alike because they've never seen fans so far away.

Wow, Negavol much? You know this game is going to set a record for attendance, right? It will be hyped up all over the media? And you just have to start with this crap. I kind of pity you, that you feel like you have to come on here and bring people down.

Wow, unable to think realistically much? Quit pumping sunshine out your a** and telling others they can't be realistic. I pity you for not grasping real life. And for not understanding words

I think I heard they were adding bleachers closer to the field. I'm not sure how that's going to work with there being seats behind it

They are going to put more stands on the track which will connect the field more with the rest of the stands. And trust me not a single player will find it awkward.

Think realistically??? I think you must have forgotten the blue font. Realistically, I think the picture looks sweet. The game is going to make history. Isn't there already like 150,000 tickets sold? Obviously Bristol and both universities think this is a great idea. Your only complaint is that it will be tough to see. Well, guess what, realistically that happens when you are sitting with 160,000 people around you. That's part of what makes it exciting.

Not to mention the small fact that on the biggest stage available that week (presumably Gameday will be there to boot), we're going to kick Virginia Tech's ass all over the field. They may as well send out 100 random fratboys.

I've heard them go back and forth on the seating on the track. There still isn't much room in the pits for a lot of extra seating and are they really going to sell out in the turns, seeing as they'll be forever away from the field? Again, since people love to overreact, the idea is cool, the atmosphere will be electric, but I don't think most understand how far away the regular seats are from the field and that will take a large portion of the crowd out of it.

Don't you know! You're a Vol fan so according to some of the more "enlightened" people on here you're not supposed to be happy or excited about UT.
