Wow, I can understand if he was leaving, but I will be surprised if he was fired! Thanks Coach Jancek for taking one of the worst Tennessee defenses of all time and making them top 20!

Must have been some big blow ups going on behind the scenes. I thought Jancek ended up being a pretty good DC and the real problems were on the other side of the ball. Oh well.

Yeah our offense didn't improve in a single area.

I don't see why people don't see this. UT had the lead in every loss. That in itself means that the offense put the team in position to win if the defense could have held. I am not hating on Jancek. Saw some positive with him, but Florida was a disappointment. With GA, we held by the skin of our teeth. Hoping for an upgrade. k:

I'm sorry but why would you want Bob Shoop? Him having the 15th rated defense this year is like saying Northwestern was ranked number 12/13.

He just proved he has no idea how to stop a SEC team (see bowl game)

Georgia scored 24 against PSU. The field goal was after a turnover on about the 15. His D held them to a FG. Another score was a pick 6.

So.... His defense only allowed 17 pts and 3 of those were given by the turnover.

Your point doesn't work. If we get Shoop, we're automatically 25-40% better on D. It's like getting 3-4 five-star guys on D.

Unless Randy Shannon or Bo Pilini are interested, you couldn't really hope for a better hire at DC.

I thought the defense kept us in a lot of games this year and was more consistent than the offense all season. Very curious decision by Butch'ems. Guess he really blamed that 17 pts that kept us from going undefeated all on CJJ.

Five 4th down conversions really hurt. Defense was a problem against UF. No doubt that the defense got better, but Butch thinks we need even better to make a run.

You see a loss and assume he blows. UGA returned a punt to like rhe 15 yard line and got held to a FG. Not much more he can do when his defense is put in that position.

Honestly, I'm nervous we're going to be severly underwhelmed with another unknown MAC-type coach... if he let Jancek go without already have a Shoops caliber candidate lined up, he deserves everything that comes his way, especially considering 2016 is the defining year for him as a head coach.
