Obama to announce new gun restrictions

It's the Right Wing Talking Points regurgitated ad nauseam. It's the old adage about if you keep saying it, people will start believing it (see Fox News viewers).
I didn't see the War on Christmas listed, is that War over? Of course, because it never started.

Change some of the lines and you have liberal talking points that get regurgitated ad nauseam. Im sure you have those lined up ready to post.

That economy sat on a throne of lies. I can't believe anyone with a lick of sense would point at the GWB tenure and give kudos given the economic collapse, TARP and wars that were paid for with credit cards.

And that hasn't changed with the next guy.

Well now that the President has decided to make it more difficult for law-abiding citizens to purchase guns, when will he come out in opposition to the reduced penalties for offenses involving guns proposed under the Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act of 2015?

If he was truly serious about discouraging gun violence, then why not increase the penalties applying to those who use guns to commit crime instead of supporting their reduction?

"I want to help remove the stigma of struggling with a mental illness that's why if you're struggling with one and you come forward, I'm going to take your constitutional right to bear arms away even when you're feeling better and rehabilitated."

Seems logical.

Can't do that, it's racist to imprison the black male youth of America.

The timing of this may actually be a net win for conservatives.

It'll play well and fire up the extreme left, which is actually a fairly large minority. It will fire up the extreme right, which is another minority in this country. But it very well may turn many moderates against the Dems in this election season.

One thing most Americans don't like... Dictators--especially dictators that bypass due process to monkey with the Constitution.

Because the same guy is letting all prisoners out early so adding more prisoners does not fit his agenda. Everything in this administration is agenda driven. Obama is interested in stopping mass murderers, not interested in putting more black people in jail, a tricky wicket. This could be done easily by changing the background check from criminal to medical. If you have mental health issues of any kind can't buy a gun until its cleared from your medical record. This would have stopped most of the mass murders from the last 5 years from buying a gun. Someone else could still buy it from them which is the catch no matter what law you enact.

You have no idea what this sentence means, but it's a talking point for you so you repeat it.

The executive action that makes individuals become a licensed dealer in order to sell a gun is unconstitutional. The document you are forced to sign allows ATF to enter your home anytime to inspect your guns. Everyone is looking at the 2nd amendment but this tramples all over the 4th.

Because the gun nuts are literally obsessed with the absurd notion that they will one day save their families from a gang of marauding Indians, like in a John Wayne movie, or from Eurotrash terrorist criminals, like in Die Hard.

I bet the population of Cologne were obsessed with the absurd notion that their police were capable of protecting them from mass gang terror, and their moms/sisters/wives/daughters from mass sexual assault and rape.

Because the majority of the gang bangers do not care about those penalties. They are invincible, and prison does not scare them at all.... until they are actually faced with it.

You mean like how the business owners of Ferguson were able to fend off the mob and save their businesses?

They didn't seem very bothered in 2012. I doubt much will change in 2016.

The majority today values the nanny state more than their own personal liberty.

Seeing as how Dink really could be affected by this, I'm surprised he hasn't chimed in.

The mobs never came near that store. The Dollar General wasn't in the same strip mall. It was down the road and across 270. Complete BS.

Nice coincidence that the mobs didn't come near the store with armed protectors... Imagine that.

And did you read the article? The hundreds of cars that pulled through the lot, scoping the stores after hours, but left when they saw the armed owners?

I guess they were just wanting to get in line for Black Friday really, really early?

Or did you see the other article about the black men that stood guard over the white-owned convenience store?

All this at a time when the governor ordered the police to stand down and let the riots/looting go on with no police help to the victims? And you want to hold this up to argue against my point?

In contrast, if you take those cities out of the modern day statistics the US becomes one of the lowest gun violence countries in the world. It's funny how that works. It's like progressivism becomes the inverse of what it seeks to become.

This. Remove the bastions of liberalism (i.e. Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans, and LA) and you will see a dramatic decrease in gun violence. Most smart criminals (the ones who dont get caught) do not want to challenge a person with a firearm. Pickings are much better in cities with gun free zones and where the majority of the populace is unarmed due to gun control restrictions. You will always have the dumb criminals who will try anyways and they will wind up getting caught or killed.

The armed protectors at the tattoo stated that a group of thugs was looting a store in the same strip mall which wasn't true. I'm therefore discounting the rest of their statements.
