That's where the Democrats have the advantage in national elections, they will line up a walk lockstep over that cliff for the party.

I'm honestly not sure. Regardless of Trump wins or loses, he may have fractured the party. Rubio (one of the 5-7 most conservative senators) has been painted as an establishment RINO by this crowd solely because of his immigration stance.

They have to nominate someone who can potentially bridge the gap between the far right and moderates - that's why I think it has to be Rubio or Christie (not so much for his policies, but his bravado and temperament). Neither are a transformative politician like Obama, Reagan, or even Bill, but Hillary is so widely disliked that they can pull it off.

Hillary is not disliked... by her retarded base. That is painfully obvious. She is a serious threat, and if the Rs don't unite behind whoever, she will be POTUS. God help us all.

For the next debate scheduled for Jan 16th, I'd prefer to only see the following candidates on stage:

Trump
Cruz
Rubio
Paul
Christie
Carson

And the only reason I include Carson is his poll numbers. I like him honestly, but the more he's on stage, the further he will drop. And the more likely his followers transfer to a candidate I feel is better suited for the job.

Limited to six candidates and have a real substance debate.

The Democrat base isn't large enough for that to be the tipping point... yet. I believe Bernie is much more popular among independents - that's where the Rs have to win.

Oh I agree that the independent vote is the key. But when Cankles is coronated, and Bernie goes back to his Cognac and Depends, the dems will swing to her. All of them. That is what they do. It is demonstrated on here ad nauseum that the "Rs" that are disenchanted with the choices we are putting up will simple not vote or go third party. Hillary wins.

This is how it will play out. I'd be willing to put some money down in Vegas if it's Hilary v Trump she will sweep. If the Republican nominee can't capture outside votes to win the key states it doesn't matter come election day.

I think the same thing. Not exactly a sweep because red states will stay red. But, all others will be blue.

I look at that situation as he was doing his job as Governor of New Jersey. A disaster just hit and he was after the Feds money to help reconstruction. The timing was bad but that did not cost Romney the election.

Before that moment Christi received a tremendous amount of love from the Republican posters on this forum. IMO, he could have easily won the GOP nomination in 2012, refused to get in race.
