havent been able to follow the decommit stuff... are we expecting this is to make room for upgrades in a numbers tight class?

Just a thought for slow times till the bowl game...

Here is a pitch I would make to JRM. I feel his position with the highest ceiling in the NFL is SS. With Randolph gone next year, let JRM know you would like to move him back to SS so he can showcase his skills there and help elevate his draft status at a position he is better fit to play in the NFL. Design and workout program specifically designed for this transition which would focus on leaning him up, increasing his speed(solid 4.5 of better), and elevating his cover skills. Of course, the other pitch is the possibility of playing for an SEC and NC championship as well. However, the sale of increasing his draft status and increased revenue would be the clincher.

Since we have some good young players coming up the coaches feel good about at the LB positions, this would be an alternative to help keep a great leader and player with the team next year while also helping his future as well.

As for the other safeties on the roster, let the chips fall where they may.

Discuss amongst yourselves...

He's a linebacker.

Am I missing something? It literally just says we had two players decommit. The only thing semi-misleading is listing UGA as a legit commitable offer for Chidi and Bama for TD.

It didn't copy well. The article that shows up on my Facebook said "terrible recruiting day for Tennessee".

Has less of a slanderous click bait title here.

No offense, but this is a football forum post.

Per Hyams...

Source: UT WR coach Zach Azzani has not talked to Maryland coach DJ Durkin as of earlier this afternoon. They coached together at BG and Fla

^^^ Azzani isn't going anywhere IMO.

You guys aren't playing along. I would like to have him back next year.

:eek:k:

Making him play the wrong position isn't the best way to accomplish that...btw, if we can just make players faster, why not the WHOLE TEAM? :wink2:

I think he's maybe average as a WR coach but he gets way too much blame.

We play too many WR, our line can't pass block, QB is inaccurate, QB does not have good pocket awareness, we are good run team.

It's not just Azzani's fault we don't get more production from WR. He's a good recruiter as well. Also, I would love to see what our WR would have looked like this year if they all remained healthy. Our most productive WR this year were Smith, Pearson and Malone. They all had pretty good seasons.

JMO.

So you think JRM couldn't play safety and excel? Kid is a football player, period. You can always change a players build, speed, quickness with the right training program. I'm not talking about going from a 4.8 to a 4.3, I'm talking about knocking a tenth off his speed consistently.

And I get the whole using examples of LB's in the league that are JRM's size. However, I can name 10 to your 2 that are his size at strong safety and excel.

Well done Butchna, that was more of a discussion. :good!:
