Richt interviewing with UM today.

According to several sources, the job is his if he wants it.

Every open job in America that is open minus the one that fired him should be his if he wants it. Basically no brainer hire that will be successful. Kind of like betting on Bama money line vs Florida if there was one

@Charlie_Burris: Per @smillerdegnan: Mark Richt is in Miami today and the job is his if he wants. Dan Mullen has also interviewed and is in the mix.

Richt to Miami would be a bad thing for Florida. Hell, it would be a bad thing for the next UGA coach. He will still have a great pipeline to that state.

Just trust Butch. If Z "has to go" then I believe he will see it and take care of it.

We have to trust Butch will do what is best for the program and I believe that he will.

We haven't broken the top 70 in passing offense since Butch has taken over, and we are 93rd this year. Something needs to change there imo.

Quote from AD Hart:
Hart: "We've built the financial reserve up to where we are now with about $10M. For several years, we were at about $2M. Of course, we're still 14th of 14 in the SEC, so we're still a work in progress."

Article from B'ham Business Journal:
Tennessee ranked most profitable SEC football program
1) The University of Tennessee
Profit: $69,866,825
Percent change: 43.1%

Figures are for 2014. Bet it's even better this year. Alabama brought in more revenue but ranked 5th for profitability.

Football Friday: SEC’s most profitable football programs - Birmingham Business Journal

Profit is money after all the bills have been paid, "I smell a rat."

Having the football program be profitable is a lot different than the entire athletic department. Afte that subsidizes almost every other sport I'm sure there's not too much left to add to the reserve

Exactly my thought as well. It would be the perfect storm

Someone on Twitter saying ideal situation would be Mullen as HC and Richt as OC....ha...haha...

Hahahahhahahahahhahahahahahhaha

Agree. Overall his strategy has been one with an upward trend. Instant sucess or not.

Good. He would win big at UGA. Miss State is a graveyard job. Mullen has worked wonders making them relevant.

I agree that MSU is a tough job in the west. But I said a day or two ago that Mullen has had about 5 automatic wins every year. In 7 years, I believe he has only played GTech and Okie State as power 5 OOC games. So, he just needs to win 2-3 games a year to make it a good year. I agree that last year was a magical year.

That will change going forward with the scheduling requirement.

I think Dan Mullen is pretty good. I would like to see him at Miami. I think he would kill it there.

Would like to see Richt to South Carolina.

Smart to UGA.

I think that's the best possible outcome for the Vols.

But then you have another opening at Ms State. I would be super interested to see who they could get. A coordinator probably. They would have to gamble again.
