Azzanni Out, Martin In?

Tee's wife doesn't want to live in Knoxville. She likes the bright lights of California. Anyway, how has he performed out there? That's the important consideration. He's not much at evaluating too tall RBs.

She'll change her tune quickly if Tee can't get another job out there. Don't really know any women who like having a jobless husband.

I think azzani knows his job is on the line the rest of the season. That is pretty much what butch told him a few weeks ago when the news broke about the physical altercation

I wasn't happy about the last "interview" that Tee had with us.
Seemed like a sham.

THat being said, if Tee is an upgrade both in recruiting and coaching up players, I would take him back.
How tied is Butch to Azzani?
Does Debord like Azzani?

Tee Martin needs to take a long walk off a short pier. He completely disrespected Tennessee when he showed up in Knoxville sporting his USC hooded sweatshirt (In the Airport), seemed interested in the job, turned it down, and then played along with Lane Kiffin's BS by posting his Tennessee job turn down on twitter.

At that point, his street sign should have been taken down and replaced with a true VFL such as Al Wilson or Inky Johnson. Tee Martin is a Trojan, not a VFL IMO. Oh... And his comment about Jalen Hurd was immature, disrespectful, and just plain wrong.

:good!: Agree, go to USC if you want, work for who ever you like, but to rub UTs nose in it and make the comments and tweets he did is too much. He threw in his lot with the Trojans and it didn't pan out. This train has left the station...

If Butch leaves after this year and Nick Saban wants to be UT's head coach, would you turn him down because he was the Coach at Alabama? What about Urban Meyer? John Gruden, didn't he already trun us down once? Yea these guys are _icks and have done some disrespectful stuff but they are winners and elite recruiters that would get us back to being at the top faster than anyone else. UT shouldn't settle for a second tier coach because the first tier hurt our feelings many years ago. I want to win and win now!

And I don't know the details of the sweatshirt or tweets but I am sure it is tough being a fan and alumni of one school and working for another. These coaches are expected to represent their current university and thats all Tee was doing. If he showed up walking around the campus or around town in the USC gear that would be different than him showing up in the airport when all he was trying to go back to his current job. The tweets might have been a different case, I don't tweet and didn't look for them. If I worked for Pepsi Co. and was expected to be dressed in the logo and I flew to Atlanta to interview with Coke and had to fly back to Pepsi where theres a chance I might run into people, I am going to put the pepsi logo on in the airport or on the plane because thats whats expected of me from my current employer. Sorry just trying to think logically here.

Can we get off the Gruden train? He's never done anything elite as HC at the collegiate level and his claim to fame as a Super Bowl coach is he took Tony Dungy's team there. The guy has no credentials of his own about which he can crow.

The "it was Dungy's players" argument is dumb. NFL coaches don't recruit their rosters.

 Its NOT Saban, Meyer, or any other title winning head coach.

altercations on coaching staffs have been happening for a hundred years. Azzanni is Butch's guy. Be surprised if he goes anywhere and Tee ain't coming here

Nope its just the starting QB who went 13-0 and won UT its only National Championship in the last 50 years. This is a coach that can make an impact on our football team with his coaching and recruiting abilities.

How many fans loved the Butch Jones hire when it was announced? I didn't. If I am an up and coming coach I am not sure that I would want to jump on his staff and put my reputation in his hands. Now did he make a good decision in coaching with Kiffin? I don't know on that but Kiffin showed he could coach at UT (Which is why we all hate him for leaving and how he left and all the issues he left us with etc. probation...) and then went 8-5 and 10-2 and then shortly after that the wheels fell off and kiffin screwed the pooch. Also look at the talent he would be coaching at USC vs at UT. I am sure it was a tough decision but to leave USC at that time probably wouldn't have been the best career move. Now 3 years later Butch has shown improvement, talent is way up and we have plenty of 4 star receivers to coach up, plus in a couple years Debord will be calling it quits. Could set up nicely for an up and coming coach.

Just because the guy graduated and played here doesn't mean he should take unnecessary risks for his career. The timing wasn't right last time and I really hope that the opportunity comes available for him soon.

Current wife doesn't want Tee any where around his ex wife? Just add a little spice to the conversation.:)

Thats's what I'm afraid of. CZA needs to go and Butch has to realize the WR's aren't getting the coaching they need or deserve.

Does anyone know if Martin is a good position coach or is it just VN homerism? Anybody taken a serious look at USC receivers production?

No one on VN could name 3 wr coaches outside Tee and ZA without Google. Same reason for the bring back pearl/Fulmer cries - they don't understand the other options

Butch is a WR coach and we know he was personally working with that position this year.

If that's the case then he should probably stop working with them. I have never seen so many highly rated WR's underachieve..Pearson,Malone,North,
Croom,Williams and Jennings were all 4*-5* stars on at least one of the recruiting services. Malone and Williams were both 5* in at least one and Pearson was as close as you can get to a 5*. I know injuries have played a part but even when healthy they have underachieved as a group. Josh Smith has by far been the most consistent and don't understand why he isn't targeted more. He seems to always be open. Some of it is Dobb's as well.

Many want Tee for obvious reason, being an ex player. He is an elite recruiter no doubt. I would love to get Bagger or Kippy Brown back as WR Coach's but neither are an option. We need a WR coach who can actually teach them proper techniques and to develop their talent fully. Doesn't take a scholar to realize they aren't getting that from CZA or Butch.

Unless the new staff keeps him, it looks like Tee will be looking for work soon. If any coach needs to be replaced, I think it's Azzanni. I've heard multiple in the know folks say that the WRs aren't getting open or finishing their routes.

Tee's son goes to Catholic, and is a 2017 USC commit right now.

First of all... Has the question been asked as to why it takes someone "in the know" to tell you our receivers were not doing their jobs?
