As a Canadian, I respect your country and the many sacrifices Americans have made in the cause of freedom. I admire the spirit of your people and the beauty of your land. That respect and admiration is only enhanced when I see Americans willing to recognise and not flinch from the darker parts of its history.

I'm thankful for our great neighbour to the south. Today I'm wishing a Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends.

Thank you, that's what I was trying to do. I'm not afraid of or ashamed by the truth at this point. We can't change it, but we can embrace the past and try to better our future. Go Vols and peace to you all! SN: I have family in Winnipeg, Canada is good in my book!

Amen, JacketVol. Let's just be thankful and not argue/"discuss".

Happy Thanksgiving.

Whatever happened in the past....Whatever happens today....Whatever happens in the future....God is in control.

Let's be thankful we are here, and that we have what we have and who we have.

May God bless everyone with an awesome day! I know there are people on here that are probably dealing with sadness and other stuff today. Extra blessings to you.

Wonder where he winds up next year...because he's definitely not coaching in the NFL next year.

Happy to see your daughter is doing well. Congrats and cheers to her health.

I kinda wonder if Kelly will try to sell himself to the Titans because of Mariota. It'll be interesting where he ends up.

I'm predicting USC

@MrHurd_1: Poorly worded article in The Tennesseean.

Comparisons push Jalen Hurd to be 'best in the country'

I mostly skimmed the article but I couldn't really tell what was poorly worded. Anybody have a clue?

This was the only part that looked poorly worded to me:

"Hurd has kept a watchful eye on Kamara since the latter joined the team in January."

Makes it seem like he's worried about Kamara's taking his spot, if taken out of context.

Dobbs wiil be a senior...and he has played since he was a freshman. All we heard all summer long was how much better Dobbs was after working with Debord. I and many others just do not see the improvement...like Kirkland, for instance. We all hope he does...but I will be surprised if it happens. It has not been easy for him but the O line is improving...he is not.

If you can't see the improvement since year 1 then that's on you. I'm happy with the development of our QB and believe he'll be even better next year.

FYI he'll probably be preseason 1st team all-SEC next year. So alot more people agree with me than you lot.

Looks like to me he is mad the article is saying he wants to be the best. From the moms quote at the end it sounds like he thinks he already is the best

Gotta prove your avatar is correct, huh?:p

Not really. If Dobbs did anything for me to lose faith in him I'd say so. I'm not the type to stubbornly stick to something just because I said it earlier.

The funny thing is I'm actually in line with the majority of college football observers on Dobbs. He's constantly praised by the media as one if the brightest young QB talents in the country. And he's considered the main reason we're any good this year.

Its really only SOME white Tennessee fans that act like he's the problem. When the reality is without Dobbs we're fighting to win 6 games rather than cruising to 8 and wondering why we didn't win 10.

On the Thanksgiving side of things - food (yep) for thought. We were not there when the events of the past prior to our births happened. We depend on others to provide what they observed and subsequent interpretations over the years; which are often incomplete, misinterpreted and sometimes just flat wrong. With all the revisionist history going on today, who knows what the truth really is about past events? So let's just be thankful for the blessings of today and work to make it better for those that follow us. Truth wins in the end. Always.

Jalen doesn't want to be compared to anyone else in the country. Article made it seem that way. I think that's the issue.

Oh the drama

On the Chip Kelly stuff - who cares?! I mean, really, who cares? He came up with an offensive scheme that worked well in college in a less than tough defensive conference. Now there are a hundred versions of what he does all over the place. He parlayed that into big bucks for himself and Philly took a shot at him. The NFL did that with Spurrier and he flamed out. It's just a blip on the screen.

No other 60%+ passer has as many passes behind the los. Dobbs is not on par with other 60% passers as far as accuracy.

It's silly that you've had to explain this so many times in this thread.

I would like to know how Dobb's stacks up on completion % of throws over 10 yds. UT is at their best when Dobb's is running the football 8+ times a game (not counting scrambles). But there is no chance Butch opens it up next year. Butch wouldn't let it ride like that.

QD has been extremely impressive throwing the football in game situations. I hope that UT isn't so fearful about Dobb's getting hurt next year and encourages him to do what he does best.

I completely agree that if next year is a replay of this year in terms of QB production and offensive philosophy, UT won't win the SEC.
