I'm excited about this class coming in for one big reason. Redshirting. With us only losing Kyberson, Pearson, McNeil, Randolph, and Owen Williams (before the potential of Sutton or JRM) and replacing them with Richmond, Healthy North/Williams, etc, TKJR, Gaulden, and Tuttle etc on D Line it means that none of the freshman coming in need to be ready to immediately contribute. Its fine if many of them redshirt and get bigger and stronger. Now is when SEC depth is beginning to be built

I'm starting to hope Michigan loses this week and we get them in the Outback. The anticipation would make for an exciting December not only for us but the team. And a win over them would do a lot more for us than say Northwestern or WV or NC State or other meh options I've heard. Georgia was big but after these last 4-5 games im ready for another big game opportunity.

I'm sorry. Have to overrule you. I need them to trash Ohio State so we can have a relatively quiet offseason (vacation) from Buckeye fans...the worst. :pinch:

I hate OSU also. I think they end up in a big bowl and get trashed. Baylor or TCU would be saweeet! Then they will get gutted by the attrition to NFL and rebuild next year. So they have that going for them, which is good.

I would be very nervous as a South Carolina fan if the program hired Kirby Smart. Defensive-minded coaches haven't done so hot lately. Seems like it's always easier to overhaul a team when you can score points right off the bat, even if it means having a porous defense for a few years.

Def potential to bust that's for sure. South Carolina has struggled on defense so it would make sense to go after a defensive guy.

He'd improve their D talent level but could he build a complete team?

It would be interesting to see Meyer last through a restocking period.

If I am TX I kick Strong to the curb and hire Les Miles ASAP. Strong is better off at Miami. He would actually do very well at Miami.

Agree completely. Think it's better for all parties involved if Les ends up at TX and Strong at Miami.

Like I said, a few dominoes would have to fall but it's the best option IMO

I bet Pruitt would go back to Bama as DC. Dream scenario is South Carolina falls flat on their face with this hire and UGA recruiting class falls apart. Vols win!

Herman may b waiting to see what happens with tejas

For some reason I see Herman as a Pac12 guy. I believe he has connection out West. One thing I am starting to wonder about is if we see Urban pull another stunt like he did at FL and OSU bring in Herman. Urban Meyer without Dan Mullen and Tom Herman as his OCs has been average. With them he has been dominant. Both guys incredibly successful when leaving to take their own HC jobs. I smell a trend.

Herman is no longer a candidate for usce according to pat forde

He has an impressive recruiting class lined up at Houston. He may not leave for just any job. Hell, a few hiccups in Columbus and Urban's heart starts up again. :)
